The Morris House Apartment is a private, spacious one bedroom apartment in a beautiful Victorian home built in 1895 for Thomas Morris. Morris was the founder of the University of WI-La Crosse and Lieutenant Governor of Wisconsin. We are conveniently located just a five minute walk to the university and a ten minute walk to a thriving downtown area. We offer a spacious living area, fully equipped kitchen, off-street parking, two private entrances and a screened private porch. Come & enjoy! The Morris House Apartment has a separate private entrance - you have the entire apartment to yourself. No shared space. Spacious one bedroom, large bath, fully furnished kitchen and comfortable living space. Victorian accents and decorating to the era. Private screened-in side porch accessed through the apartment. Perfect to sit with a morning coffee or an evening glass of wine. You are welcome to join us in our beautiful backyard with cafe lighting. We live in the house so are readily available. We enjoy meeting new people but also respect the privacy of our guests. Historic neighborhood between the university and downtown. A leisurely 10 minute walk brings you to the downtown area filled with unique shops, restaurants and a beautiful view of the mighty Mississippi at Riverside Park. A walk around the neighborhood is filled with large historic homes from the late 1800's and the University of WI-La Crosse campus. The immediate downtown and university area is easily accessible by walking or biking. The bus line is 3 blocks away. The train station is about a 10 minute drive. Taxi and Uber are available.
