Whether you're in need of a recharge or if you simply wish to reconnect with loved ones, a visit to Lake Jeff Cottage with it's sweeping lake views should fit the bill. UPDATE: Sadly, Lake Jeff dam is in need of repair. While you may find the sweeping lake views throughout most of the year, there will be no swimming at this time. That said, the fishing has been strong this year. Water levels are totally weather dependent. During spring and after a good rain, the lake conditions allow for a stunning lake views, allowing for fishing and boating from the shore. During times of drought the water levels may recede from the shore. There are a number of swimming lakes within a half hour of the house for swimming and the Delaware river is close by as well. 1. Sand Beach in Highland Lake LAKE JEFF While you may feel as though you're miles from civilization, Lake Jeff Cottage is conveniently located just one scenic mile up the creek from the small town of Jeffersonville. Groceries? Gas? Restaurants? Gifts? No problem! You’ll find most of what you need just one mile from the cottage. THE TOWN OF JEFFERSONVILLE Jeffersonville is a delightful little hamlet, located in the western-most part of Sullivan County, known best for its shops, casual dining supermarket and small-town charm. The town Jeffersonville has conveniently located approximately 20-minute drive to nearby towns and their offerings. Bethel, Roscoe, Livingston Manor, Callicoon, Monticello, Liberty, Kauneonga Lake, and the Delaware River. That means there's a number of wonderful activities just a short car ride away. The cottage is a short drive away from Bethel Woods Center for the Arts, rafting on the Delaware River, fishing, hiking and a whole host of outdoor activities. THE DELAWARE RIVER The Delaware River is just twenty minutes from the cottage and there's a multitude of activities for you to enjoy with family and friends along the Delaware River. Activities include canoeing, rafting, Kayaking, swimming, zip line, and mountain biking. Panoramic views of the lake, from nearly every room in the cottage, make this very special lakefront home a relaxing destination. There’s really no need to venture outside the confines of the property. This rustic, three-story lake house offers four bedrooms, and two baths, which can comfortably sleep up to eight guests. You and your guests can rest easy in our king size bed, Queen size bed, our 3, full-size beds, and one single bed. The open kitchen/ living room enjoys some of the best lake views in the entire cottage INTERIOR: FIRST FLOOR ACCOMMODATIONS The first floor of the cottage is truly the heart of this lakefront home. The family chef will not feel isolated for one moment with this open concept kitchen/living room area, with sweeping waterfront views and all the comforts of home. KITCHEN Preparing meals at the cottage is designed with you in mind. This well-appointed kitchen features pecan cabinetry, stainless appliances, a large farmhouse sink, and granite countertops, sure to satisfy the needs of our guests. We gladly supply our guests with pots, pans, dishes, glassware, utensils, condiments and a few spices for cooking. LIVING ROOM Opposite the kitchen is the lovely living room. The living room enjoys two sofas, chairs, large flat screen tv with cable and a wood-burning stove for those cool mountain evenings. SINGLE BEDROOM Behind the fireplace is a charming single bedroom with lovely antique furnishings. A single bed, desk chair, and a closet adorn this cozy bedroom. There is a second door with a step-down, providing bathroom access from this room. This room is wonderful for the guest who appreciates their privacy. LAUNDRY / PANTRY / MAIN BATHROOM Just beyond the kitchen lies the laundry room/pantry with lovely pecan wood pantry for your groceries, with access to our main bathroom, for your guests. SECOND FLOOR: ENTRANCE / MUDROOM The entrance to the Lake Jeff Cottage is located on the second floor and features a custom-built mudroom complete with cubbies to house your sports equipment and belongings The king and queen bedrooms and bathroom are located on the second floor just beyond the mudroom. MASTER BEDROOM The Master Bedroom enjoys a King size sleigh bed, knotty pine floors, a sofa, flat screen T.V. with a lovely lake view. 2ND FLOOR BATHROOM The second-floor bathroom sits between the king and queen bedrooms. This lovely bathroom calls attention to its custom-built cherry cabinetry and spacious sit-down stall shower. QUEEN BEDROOM The queen bedroom features a queen size bed, flat screen tv with cable, and beautiful knotty pine floors, with lovely views of the lake. THIRD FLOOR BUNK ROOM The third floor of the cottage houses a spacious guest room known affectionately, as the "Bunk Room". The Bunk Room with its rustic cottage charm, offers three full-size, log style beds, for guests and their families to sleep in comfort and style. With wooden beams throughout and custom built bookshelves, this room is a favorite retreat for many of our guests. Guests of Lake Jeff Cottage can take advantage of the library of books available to them in the Bunk Room, perfect for reading by the lake or if you prefer – reading in bed. A table and chairs overlook the lake in the Bunk Room so grab a book, relax and enjoy the view! EXTERIOR: THE LAKE The upper portion (shallow end) of Lake Jeff offers great wildlife observation opportunities, but the birding is exceptional! You may see the native Bald Eagles, Hawks, the Great Blue Heron, Snowy Egret, King Fisher, migratory waterfowl including the Mallards, Wood Ducks, and Geese amongst other bird species, just steps outside your door. Don't forget to bring your fishing rods! DINE AL FRESCO Grill and dine outside on the stone terrace overlooking the lake. Roast marshmallows in the evenings by the fire pit with family and friends.
