A 2 min walk to the Kariega River, slipway & lagoon. 5 mins stroll to the Kariega Blue Flag Beach, or to the village centre. Complete privacy in your own kitchen garden, and access to a large, treed, semi-private garden that is for your exclusive use. A gate and fence separates you from my garden. Ideal weekend getaway/longer stay for digital nomads, couples, solo adventurers, small families (double sleeper couch for 2 children), or simply peace & quiet to finish writing that book! This is a quirky, revamped one bedroom garden cottage. The bedroom is off a lovely sunny kitchen, which has the quirkiest facility - a great, enclosed shower - off it. There is a separate toilet and basin next to the lounge, which has French doors opening onto its own small patio and large semi-private treed garden. A table and benches, plus a Weber Braai/cooker are on the paved area under the guava tree. Outside the kitchen is a small enclosed, lockable, covered 'porch' with chairs - perfect for rainy days and smokers. Surfboards, bicycles etc. can be stored here. Outside the 'porch' is a small completely private garden with a pathway leading to the private entrance gate. The main house is one of the original houses in the village - 100 years old. The cottage (which was once a woodshed) has its own private entrance, is set back from the road and behind the house, with off street parking up the side of my house, on a grassed pavement, or up my driveway by prior arrangement. Kenton is a small village. It's a short walk to the CBD or a brief drive by car. Parking is normally not a problem but the CBD can be conjested during seasonal holiday times. Guests walk to the lagoon, Kariega River and beachfront from here. You will need to drive to some parts of Kenton maybe, and the villages and towns in the area. There isn't a taxi or shuttle bus service but if you require one we can arrange this for you. I enjoy meeting and interacting with people, so I'm available for a chat, glass of wine or to give any advice about the area that you want. Social distancing and Covid protocols are always observed. However, be assured that I will respect your privacy at all times if you prefer. Kenton-on-Sea, often called 'the village between two rivers' is unique in that it is off the main coastal road with 2 rivers- Kariega & Bushmans-as 'boundaries' with the pristine beachfront and Joan Muirhead Nature Reserve connecting them. Kariega Beach has international Blue Flag status and Middle Beach pilot Blue Flag status. There is easy access to all shops, a number of eateries and coffee shops, as well as an art gallery, craft and bookshop. Safe swimming, rock pools, hikes, township tours, bird watching, mountain-biking, horse & canoe trails, boat trips, fishing, dune boarding, surfing & kite-surfing. You can also enjoy the best of the bush at the Sibuya Game Reserve, one hour up river in their boat. Addo Elephant Park (which has the Big 7) is a popular day trip. Most visitors travel by car but some fly to either Port Elizabeth or East London which are 126 km & 175 km respectively from Kenton, and hire a car. Shuttle bus services are available. Buses also go to Grahamstown (60 km) from here, or to Port Alfred (25 km). Otherwise everywhere in the village is only a walk away. The linen is 100% cotton percale. Towels are provided, but bring your own swimming towels please. (These are provided for overseas travellers on request). Hand soap/shower gel and shampoo provided. A garden umbrella is available. There is DSTV and uncapped wifi in the cottage
