Art Collector's Pied-a'-terre
Please note my condo is for monthly rentals only. On a top floor of one of Chicago's elegant South Shore apartments, sits my spacious condo with a view looking north of Lake Michigan, Jackson Harbor, golf course, Univ of Chgo and the Chicago skyline. Very private, doorman, gallery hallway, top end appliances, ample street parking. Perfect for the executive heading to McCormick Place (8 minutes up the Drive) or visitors to the University of Chicago, museum campus or Grant Park Festivals. No north side traffic hassles! Featured in the book "Chicago Apartments - A Century of Lakefront Luxury" this 1928 deco period building is a piece of Chicago history. Decorated with much of my travel art collection my guests are welcome to explore. There is a queen sized bed, 2 sizable couches, plenty of bedding and an air mattress that when used still allows for a 'dance floor' of space...could actually sleep 6. Beach chairs and toys are on site, and after every booking, bathrooms and kitchen are Lysol cleaned as though I were visiting next! Lake Shore Drive is right around the corner. Literally, twenty steps from my front door is the #6 Jackson express bus to the University of Chicago and then straight to downtown Chicago and the #26 that is express straight to the city from my corner. There is 1 owner's closet and cabinet and other than that there is dresser and closet space, toiletries, hair dryer, iron, puzzles, books, cable TV, internet, DVD and Bose sound system for use by my guests...and I welcome requests to stock the refrigerator. I will meet you upon arrival to deliver the keys and answer questions. You will have 24 hour access to me for help or questions and I can arrange pick up and drop off at the airports. After 3pm, standard check-in, by 11am check-out unless prior arrangement. I grew up visiting the many beaches along the lake in South Shore. The 9 hole South Shore Golf Course and the 18 hole Jackson Park Golf Course are walking distance (hole 10 outside of my front window,) including a driving range. If you have a car and want a Great Lakes experience, within 15-30 minutes taking the Skyway you will find yourself at casinos, the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore and Michigan Wine Country. Actually there is too much to say and do...call me, I'm a Chicago native, subscribe to many email tourist blasts and love the city. At the corner directly outside the front door of my building is a bus stop for the Jackson Park Express bus #6. This makes one stop in Hyde Park at the University of Chicago, and then travels on Lake Shore Drive directly to the museum campus and downtown Chicago. The #26 bus, also picking up at my building is an express into the city. If you prefer to travel by commuter train, you can hop on the elevated (el) in Hyde Park. Additional cleaning fee if excessive mess. Street parking is readily available at no cost generally within steps of my front door.
