Our junior suite ,part of our beautiful estate, surrounded by incredible mountain views, is located just a 10 minute walk from the centre of the renowned village of Konitsa. With luxury prominent throughout, as well as respect to the perennial history of the region, our 19th century stone built manor features 4 super large, well soundproofed bedrooms, a shared fully equipped kitchen offering every modern convenience and exteriors with stunning panoramic scenery that will travel you in time while enjoying your morning coffee, meal with your friends or relaxing glass of wine along with your favourite book. The room is very large and comfortable (22sq.m), features one double bed and gorgeous mountain views. It has a private bathroom with shower, it is fully air conditioned ,it has central heating and access to a shared spacious kitchen. The room also has a large wardrobe, a safe (laptop size) and a flat screen TV, as well as all the essentials and toiletries. The exteriors of the house include a furnished paved front yard and our lawn and tree garden. Available to our guests are the large BBQ and traditional wood burning oven under the pergola. There is free car parking in the estate, free wi-fi and we offer mid stay cleaning and airport transfer services upon request. Guests will exclusive access to the room and the common areas of the manor. I will be available for my guestes whenever needed. Our beautiful town of Konitsa spreads along the slopes of mount Trapezitsa. It is renowned for the impressive natural beauty of its soundings, its rich history and particular characteristic architecture of the Epirus region. It is a particularly fertile and green area, thanks to the local climate and the three large rivers that run around the area (Aoos, Voidomatis and Sarantaporos). This is also the reason for the uncountable hand built stone arch bridges that have been erected, real architectural marvels defining the decay of time for centuries. The most impressive of them all was built in 1870 and is the biggest single span arch bridge in Europe, consisting the entrance to the village and welcoming visitors from all over the world through the past three centuries. The village itself is naturally panoramic, thus offering unobstructed view to the mountains around. It is laced with narrow paved streets, most of them leading to the stone-paved square. Wandering in the old part of the town offers a time voyage and consists an unforgettable experience on its own. The stone built churches are prominent everywhere, the remarkable church of St. Nicolas being the main church of the village. There is also a public library and a permanent photography exhibition of the monuments of Konitsa, that exhibits the area from the Prehistoric Era to the Byzantine times. The local flavours comprise a big part of Epirus. It is very regionally peculiar and Konitsa is no exception to this delicious culture and tradition. You will find so many traditional taverns, all offering exceptional food and atmosphere. Recommended day trips: Konitsa is in the heart of the district, making it an ideal starting point to many remarkable destinations. "Mastorochoria" is a group of 15 traditional villages, built skilfully in stone on the slopes of Mt. Grammos and Mt. Smolikas. The locals were great stone masons, masterly combining the byzantine tradition with elements of the local art. When there, make sure you visit the "Pyrsogianni" village with the Folklore Museum of Stone Masonry. "Bourazani" is an area of rare natural beauty, where you can take a guided tour to the Environmental Park. "Molyvdoskepasti", a borderline village with remarkable byzantine monuments such as the Stavropegial and the Panagia Molyvdoskepasti Monasteries, the later dating to the 7th century BC. There is also a traditional tsipouro distillery worth visiting. "Kavasila" and "Amarantos", with the natural mineral hot springs and steam baths. "Drakolimni" lake on Mount Smolikas (2150m elevation), also known as the "blue lake" due to its vividly coloured waters. "Vikos-Aoos National Park", an area of outstanding natural beauty. The path from the arch bridge at the entrance of the village all the way to the 1776 "Stomiou" Monastery. Sports and outdoor activitiesKonitsa is a renowned alternative and sports tourism destination. You will find many activity operators that have excellent knowledge of the region and will safely organise for you and your friends a variety of sports and outdoor activities. Voidomatis and Aoos rivers are ideal for rafting and kayak, appealing both to beginners and experts. Other activities include horseback riding through nature, mountain biking, off road expeditions with 4WD vehicles, paragliding, rock climbing, mountaineering and hiking. If you happen to visit in late May/early June do not miss out on the "Evathlos" open air adventure sports contest, that take place annually with the most renowned participants from all over the world.
