The Royal Abbey of Septfontaines is a 17th-18th century French Heritage Monument. Five spacious guest rooms are available (= 5 announcements), with a castle-like touch given by Count Ducos at the end of the 19th c., notably through remarkable painted wall papers. Four spacious guest rooms are made available in the abbey itself, which keep the castle-like touch given by Count Ducos at the end of the 19th century, notably through remarkable ancient painted wall papers. The rooms are located on the ground floor and first floor with direct view to the peaceful fields. A bathroom of 3 showers in the 1rst floor, a bathroom with bath and shower on the ground floor and 3 toilets are reserved for our guests. If you are looking for simplicity, quietness and friendly welcoming, without luxury and florishies, you choose the right place. Ideal place for lovers of old stones, for artists, ... In the cloister, you would relax, enjoying the outstanding beauty and perspectives of the place, or simply choose a book in the library, play chess in large armchairs. Breakfast is served in the traditionnal kitchen or in the dining room of the abbey. Outside, you wil enjoy the courtyard with his 19th c. fountain, the romantic ruins of the old church, the park, the pond, river, woods, hidden corners, rockeries... On request, you can have access to a kitchencorner with frig, stove and all necessary kitchen utilities with a small supplement (20€/day). Spoken Language : English, Spanish and some German. Easy parking. We will be glad to give all the interesting tourist information, good places to eat, good adresses to buy champagne, etc. We can also leave you discover the country on your own. An advice: if you wish to leave a total experience of peace an forget everything about the outside world, we recommand a stay of 2 or 3 days. You will be in another world! We are situated in a three houses hamlet, in full quiet countryside. A car is neaded to stay at the abbaye. Nearby (3kms) are the villages of Andelot and Bologne where you will find all commodities and shops. The nearest city is Chaumont, 13km, which is also the nearest train station. We are not far from Champagne region, from Colombey les deux églises (Gl de Gaule), and from many other places worse discovering. Near the abbaye there are many hiking paths and beautiful spots to visit.
