A simple, and humble space, perfect for those travelling on a small budget that want to explore the island My home is unique because it offers a real good value for money at a very affordable price and because It's situated in a very a local neighbourhood close to town centre. A very authentic comfortable and safe environment. I have pet dog and a cat that very friendly and your welcome to play with. I love socialising meeting new people and sharing stories so I'm always available and open for a good conversation. Fundação Popular was formally known as Fundação de Salazar named after the Portuguese dictator "Salazar". The houses were built by the colonials for public and governamental workers. However after the independence all the House were given to School teachers. It's a neighbourhood with what can be considered middle class Santomeans. It's considered a quiet and safe zone. There is a Primary school right at the top of the road and also a Nursery school next to it. The popular Musician Kalu Mendes has his house and studio in Fundação Popular. The entrance to my place, Casa Branca has some reference for those who arrive during the day look out for the airbnb logo painted on the lamppost and if you arrive in the evening look out for the last lamppost with street lights. You can walk to city centre in around 15minutes. Most people catch the local mototaxi service as it's a cheap and convenient way to get aroun. But renting a car is also recommended. You might hear dogs barking, music playing from the neighbours house as it's a lively neighbourhood and see many children around the neighbour. If you arrive in the evening I recommend bringing a light torch and ear plugs for noise reduction.
