This 3 bedroom, 2 1/2 bath house features an open layout floor plan on the first level including a large and open gourmet kitchen with breakfast area and living room. The bedroom features a comfortable sleeping area for two with a full sized bed and new pillow top mattress, small desk and chair, new flatscreen tv and plenty of storage area for your personal belongings in the nightstand, dresser and closet. Each room also contains a small space heater and fan for your sleeping comfort. Please note that the entire house is fully furnished and includes all modern amenities. Features include central heating and A/C, all new appliances including a range/ oven, microwave, toaster, dishwasher and garbage disposal in the kitchen, and a washer dryer conveniently located on the second floor. Additionally, there is wireless internet, Netflix and Amazon Prime TV. There is plenty of free on street parking available day and night. Please make sure to read the signs as there is street cleaning on certain days of the week. The home is also conveniently located within easy walking distance of many major attractions including the Inner Harbor and National Aquarium as well as Oriole Park at Camden Yards and Ravens Stadium. It is also a short walk to the University of Maryland Baltimore Campus and BioPark Medical Research Facility, Royal Farms Arena, Baltimore Convention Center, the Hippodrome, Lexington Market and the Science Center. Or, visit Babe Ruth's birthplace on your way to catch and Orioles game at nearby Camden Yards. If you wish to venture out a little further, you can catch the free Circulator bus to downtown and surrounding areas, it picks up right at the end of the block, or take a short taxi ride to visit other points of interest like Fort McHenry, the Visionary Art museum or the Baltimore Museum of Art. Although I no longer live on the premises, rest assured that I will be accessible by phone and email throughout your stay and have a caretaker who lives in the neighborhood and is available as well. Sowebo (South West Baltimore) is a community-chosen name for a historic area in the South West of Baltimore City and encompasses the neighborhoods of Union Square and Hollins Market. At one point, the area suffered from decades of urban decay but, in recent years, this community has seen increasing gentrification. On its main thoroughfares, West Lombard Street, Hollins Street, West Baltimore Street and South Carey Streets, spacious three-story row houses predominate. There are plenty of nearby restaurants in the immediate vicinity (1 block radius) including a coffee shop, award winning pizzeria, the oldest Irish pub in the country, a new Mexican restaurant (great margaritas!), a Chinese restaurant. And if thats not enough, the Hollins Market public market is open 6 days a week and features stalls selling everything from fresh seafood and fried chicken to salads and much more. Also within a short walking distance, you will find a grocery store, a dollar store, nail salon, a bank and several other shops and fast food restaurants. If you are looking for things to do, you can check out the Edgar Allen Poe house, HL Menken house and the B&O railroad museum, all of which are located within walking distance in this historic southwest Baltimore neighborhood. The neighborhood is perhaps best known for its annual Arts festival, called Sowebo-fest, held each year in the streets around Hollins Market on the Sunday afternoon of the Memorial Day weekend. Finally, the University of Maryland's BioPark is a recent addition, with portions still under construction. The free Charm City Circulator bus (Orange Line) picks up at the end of the block, next to Hollins Market and runs all the way to Harbor East. You can take this bus to many of the points of interest downtown including Camden Yards, the Convention Center, the Inner Harbor, the National Aquarium, Pier 6, Little Italy and the Jewish History Museum. You can also transfer to the Purple, Green or Banner route line to explore other areas around the city. Additionally, you can catch the MTA buses around the corner on Baltimore Street for a small fee. The neighborhood is a wonderfully vibrant transitioning neighborhood. Although it is generally considered safe, I advise my guests to remain alert and always be careful, particularly when walking alone and especially late at night anywhere in Baltimore city.
