Sonnenstrahlensammelhaus
Former factory that wanted to become something completely different again and that has also become. Anyone who thinks his house was a paradise is wrong. Most of the time, anyway. But in the moments when he is not mistaken, he would like to share it with many people. At least that's the way it goes for us. Then we would like to share our experience that an ugly, old, run-down factory can become a place of inspiration, serenity, fresh strength and discovery. For example, the large living hall: from the dining niche you look out over a wide front into the garden, but sit well protected in a cube of glass and rustic clinker bricks. Or the fireplace corner: at the blazing fire all possibly queasy or poorly feelings burn down and a coziness arises, which probably is based on our millennia old campfire experience. Or the kitchen: "recycle", "reuse" is our motto, not only by means of waste separation, but also during the creation of the rooms and the inventory. Old tiles come together to form a mosaic and old furniture experiences its resurrection. And everything together forms a quite amused choir that accompanies you cooking. Or the bathroom: once a stable, now something like the green vision, whereby it is above all the partition walls that shine. On the same level, i.e. on the ground floor, there is a small bedroom, the other two bedrooms are on the upper floor, which can be reached via a spiral staircase. One with a French bed and two single beds, the other with bunk beds. But in the middle between all these rooms and right next to the two upper bedrooms rests the rest / meditation / movement / i.e. also dance room. So if you practice something between morning gymnastics and evening yoga, you will find your place here. We live in the house as well and are always ready to support and to talk about this and that Our house is situated on the northernmost hill of the German low mountain range and so on one side you see to the other and higher mountain chains with the deep cut of Porta Westphalica for example and on the other side down to the North German Plains with the Steinhuder Meer (biggest lake of North-West-Germany) directly in front. There are bus connections to the district town of Stadthagen and to the net of the Greater Hanover Transport (GVH) Our house is an elderly countrywoman (born 1910), who has probably already experienced many a thing. We only know her time, when she was a dairy before the wars and then a factory, from pictures, from the stories of her neighbours and from what she tells us through her outfit or through her inner life during renovations. But they are very lively stories and if you add our own time with her from the 80s to the 2000s as a family with four children, you could listen to her all the time. But of course we still speak up and change and improve one or the other and see that it slowly becomes a common story. And what we really appreciate about her: she was always very open-minded about new ideas and was open to all nonsense, even if he sometimes made a long nose for technical perfection. And change meant: bedroom furniture could become kitchen cupboards, plastic boxes could become lanterns, storage rooms became bedrooms etc. So there is a lot to detect now. Some information about energy: In winter times it can get fresh in our house. 'Cos the living hall is large and extraordinarily high the heating energy put in is mostly effective there where there is no use for it: underneath the ceiling. And because our heating system in the hall still exists of an open fireplace and a mobile gas heater we have to confess a secret gladness, when because of the climate change there are milder temperatures in winter by the time and we have to warn everybody who´s interesting in our house and who´s used to fully climatized city flats. But we also can assure them: there´s no bigger energy input to you but to sit around a brightly blazing open fire.
