Private cottage farm-stay, gorgeous views and easy access to wineries, hiking, rafting, & organic farms. Located between Hotchkiss & Paonia. 700 sqft, full kitchen w/granite counters, dishwasher, toaster, coffee maker (incl. coffee/tea). Dining area + breakfast bar. TV/DVD player, high-speed wifi. Queen bed w/memory foam mattress, twin pullout bed in common area. Bathroom accessible from both bedroom & common area. Our views are remarkable! Situated on a Sunshine Mesa about 500 feet above the North Fork Valley, you can see the West Elk Mountains, North Fork Valley, Needlerock, and even the Black Canyon of the Gunnison in the distance. Relax on the wooden deck and enjoy the BBQ grill. We also have a little cabana set up on the deck to enjoy our abundant sunshine. The interior of the place is clean and well kept, with a great kitchen setup with everything you need. We are a working farm and we love guests who want to have the "farm" experience. Our chickens have lots of space to roam and are loved, well cared for, and quite friendly! We are always happy to show you our operations. Our chickens make typical chicken noises like clucking and crowing, but our guest house is well insulated from sound and we've never had a complaint about the noise. Our poultry greenhouse is out in the field, and there are no issues with smells. Cottage is located about 100 feet from main house, and has its own private parking area. We offer easy self check-in so you can arrive late with no worries. We have an 11' pond/pool directly in front of the guest house. This means it’s not a good setup for toddlers and young children. We are not a good setup for hunters. Our master bedroom is close to the guest house parking, and the very early mornings wake up us and our dogs. You will be welcome to walk around the farm, check out the chickens, or walk in our beautiful pastures. We live on-site in the main house, so are nearby if you need anything. We are happy to show you around the farm and tell you about the local attractions, including wineries, breweries, restaurants, fishing, hiking, & farm tours. We are one of eight residences on Sunshine Mesa. Although we ask that you respect all neighborhood “private property” signs, you can walk south along the road to a truly stunning overlook. Access to our property is up a well-maintained dirt switchback. 2WD vehicles are no problem in the summer; those who stay in the winter may appreciate AWD if there is a snow storm. Property has a deep pond/pool directly in front of the cottage and as such, is not suitable for toddlers/young children.
