Apple Garden Residence
Enjoy a unique and peaceful stay in our family country house. Built in the late 19th century the house is embraced by large apple, pear and cherry gardens, a pond and forrest on its 75 hectare estate. The residence is a completely private apartment suite with its own entrance and amenities. It offers relaxing holidays for families with kids, couples, small groups of friends and singles alike. It has a bedroom with a double bed, a studio type living room with a sofa, a fire place for relaxing holiday, and with a kitchen. It has a bathroom with a bath. It can host 3 persons. Since the house has very thick walls we enjoy having warmth in the winter and in the summer the whole house has a lovely coolness. We try our best to be sustainable towards nature. Therefore our linen is washed with no enhancing industrial smells, chemicals, softeners, bleachers, etc. We offer natural linen sheets, but if you prefer other material sheets or if you would like, that your linen is ironed, please, let us know beforehand. The residence is spacious with exit to gardens. You can grill food and enjoy meals in the pergola. Coffee, tea, tasty homemade fruit jams with bread always at hand for breakfast in the yard or pergola. You will visit gardens and depending on season you might enjoy blossoming of the gardens or pick cherries, pears, apples and even prepare your own jams. We have a multi-language library and wi-fi, bikes for exploring and footpath with benches for quiet walks of bird watching an enjoying the wild nature. We have another residence available in our country house – Cherry garden residence and we can accommodate up to 6 people easily and 10 altogether with extra beds. You can enjoy days in wilderness or just wander in the gardens or swim (note: the pond is deep and not suitable for small children, but very natural. A very kids-friendly Baltic Sea beach at Klapkalnciems is just 20 minutes away by car) and spend romantic evenings at a campfire. You have to spend at least a day, but even better a few days or a weekend to enjoy the garden fruits, picking them just for eating or making your own homemade jam, walking in a wonderful landscape, visiting the pond surrounded by trees and feeling the slowness of time. You are welcome to fish in the pond, in autumn you are welcome to pick mushrooms- we will tell you where the best spots are- and in winter you can cross country ski around the pond or skate on the frozen pond (given the temperature is well below minus to guarantee your safety). Alternatively, we would be more than happy to host you for just a night if you are on a road trip around Latvia or the surrounding area, as we are conveniently located on Ventspils highway- a major road to Western coast of Latvia, where Liepaja, Ventpils, Kolka or Pavilosta and other places are situated popular with locals and tourists alike. The nearest town Tukums with art museum, supermarket, coffee shops and farmers-market 3 times a week is 5 km (the town center is 8 km) from the country house. It has a railway station (you can cycle there) which will connect you to Jurmala or Riga. The nearest shop is 5 km form the residence. Jaunmoku palace is 500 meters away and has a museum and a cafe and hosts many events as concerts and exibitions. Fisherman villages with nice un peaceful beaches are about 17 km from the country house- Klapkalnciems, Mersrags, Apšuciems among others. Kuldīga, the nicest town in all western Latvia, a historical, beautiful and active town with excellent restaurants, exceptional architecture and other attractions is 80 km form the property and Riga is about 75 km from the residence (Riga airport -65 km).
