Archipelago Hideaway - Panoramic Seaview & Spa
Perched on the edge of an island in Sthlm with panoramic seaview, this cosy rustic cabin designed with handmade Scandinavian wooden interior in a (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) SQM property offers you an authentic Archipelago getaway. 1.5h ferry from Sthlm C or 6m ferry from mainland Lillsved (where you park your car). Open fire while reading a book or watch Netflix on 2.5m projector, spa in hot-tub for a fee all year round. An extraordinary way to escape from the city to recharge your batteries throughout the seasons. This cosy wooden cabin built by my grandfather in the 20's on a cliff on the tip of an island in the Stockholm Archipelago, filled with handmade Scandinavian decor offers you a simple and peaceful authentic Archipelago stay. The cabin is surrounded by the Baltic Sea and pine trees. Wild forestry nature, smooth rocks, glow in the dark rocks leading you up the hill to find the cabin at night. The cabin is positioned in a unique spot allowing you to see both sunrise and sunsets from the sea. The cabin is, rustic, simple yet charming, approximately 60sqm. Heat conditioning for a comfy climate, kitchen and running tap water from a private well which you can drink. As the water is from our private well please be sparing with water use as it is limited. Hot water from the shower lasts for around 7 minutes and it takes a couple of hours to heat up again. The toilet is an incinerator toilet, a common solution in the Archipelago as the cabin is built on rocks. A incinerator toilet turns waste into compost-like material, without leaving any smell. Superfast WiFi with a 2.5m projector connected to Chromecast, with Netflix connected to tablet which enables you to have a home cinema next to the open fire. Cosy in on the sofa with a book in mornings or evenings, always with big glorious views from the window. The master bedroom has a comfortable kingsize bed with a large window. The living room has an open fire space and candles/dimmed lights for cosy evenings. There's a small bedroom beside the kitchen, please note that there's a curtain instead of a door for this bedroom. A small wooden second small cabin that is perched on the edge of a cliff with sea view, 5 meters from the main house, with a double bed and a smaller top bunkbed. This will be available for you if you are more than 4 persons. Semi-enclosed outdoor gathering terrace/diningroom area for dinners out of the elements whilst still enjoying the views with a BBQ. Dock with a hot-tub with ozone filter, the hot-tub is available to use all year round for a fee. Even more satisfactory during the winter season, allowing you to be out in the elements in up to 40 degrees celsius, despite it being minus degrees outdoors. Please indicate in booking if you are interested in using the hot-tub. As the property is located on the edge of the island, you are constantly surrounded by water that brushes up towards large smooth rocks. A hammock is located on top of the hill surrounded by pine trees. Swans and other birds pass by on a daily basis. While it feels remote, the close proximity to Stockholm, and the other key tourist areas of the archipelago such as Vaxholm and Grinda. Please note that on low season there are normally 2 ferries/day from each direction, from Lillsved (if travelling by car, Lillsved is where you park your car as the ferries in the Archipelago don't accept cars) and from Strömkajen in the city center. There are taxi boats travelling from Vaxholm that can take you directly to the property's dock. I can also arrange pickup from my neighbour to the property's dock for a fee. Sports & Games: Water sports available is sailing in the worlds smallest sailboat and fishing. Land sports available is kubb. Kubb can be described as a combination of bowling and horseshoes, and is nicknamed Viking chess as it's origins are from the Viking Age. There is a small swing on the main lawn for younger children. There are apples and fresh mint growing on the property that you are welcome to pick when in season. You will have the cabin and the surrounding spaces to yourselves, with the exception of the hot-tub and kayak which can be booked by guests from my other cabin. Our boat can also sometimes be docked on the dock. You can check in by yourself with Airbnb's online check-in manual with pictures and descriptions on how to get from the ferry's dock to the cabin (approximately 10-minute walk) and where to find the keys. Sometimes I am on the island, but mostly I am in Stockholm. If I'm not in Vårholma we can (Hidden by Airbnb) , (Hidden by Airbnb) or call for any questions. I can video chat to go through any issues. The island of Vårholma is 3km long and 1km wide, perfect for small hikes offering you various sorts of nature throughout the season. On the island there are three ferry docks, a common swimming dock and a dance scene used for Midsummers Eve. Mushrooms and blueberries grow wild on the island. Deers are often seen near the cabin or on the property. You can take a 30-minute ferry ride or 15-minute by motorboat to Vaxholm to eat out at restaurants, take a drink at the hotel bar, shop in cute boutiques and enjoy small walks around the beautiful architectural houses that are in the town. Just across Vaxholm is a small island called Kastellet, which is an old fortress from the 16th-hundreds. The same ferry going to Vaxholm drops you off here, here you can explore the old fortress, shop in small boutiques as well as visit my friend's magnificent art studio. You can also take a 20-minute ferry ride or 5-minute motorboat ride to Grinda. Grinda is one of the Archipelago's most famous islands and most visited after it was bought by the Archipelago Foundation. The island has a lot of forest to take hikes in as well as paths to explore. A farm is open all year round and there's a restaurant/bar during Spring-Autumn season. During summer you can order take-away pizza and enjoy the seasonally opened harbour bar.
