Family friendly house in the peaceful, rural village Fellabær with a beautyful landscape in walking distance. 3 bedrooms, a large living room, a garden and patio with a magnificient view over the river Lagarfljot and the surrounding mountains. Welcome to our cosy family home in Fellabaer, overlooking the great river Lagarfljót and the surrounding mountains. The house with approximately 140 square metres was built in the 70s by Thorsteinn himself. The house is at the end of the street with ample space and privacy so you have the freedom to make and enjoy music without disturbing the neighbours. There are three bedrooms ( two small and one bigger ) with two beds/double beds each, a huge bright living room with an open fireplace and a piano, a small cosy kitchen, a bathroom and an extra restroom, a laundry room, a patio and a small garden borderd to a little wood. Kitchen, bathroom, three bedrooms , living room, wc, laundry and a garden with a little wood right at the end. There are personal things like books, pictures etc which we ask our guests to respect. Fellabaer is a small friendly spot, with an extremely attractive landscape in walking distance. The public playgrounds of the school and the kindergarten, as well as a soccer ground are only a two minute walk away. The bakery, petrol station and a the cosy Bókakaffi coffee shop (a coffee shop including a library with food, cake and internet free of charge) are also within walking distance. The golf course is only about a 10 minute walk away. About 2 km to northwest is a new (2019) attraction, Vok baths, geothermal floating pools in lake Urridavatn with a small restaurant. See (Website hidden by Airbnb) . On the other side of the river Lagarfljót is the little town Egilsstadir located, about a kilometer away. Egilsstaðir is, with its 2200 residents the biggest town in East Iceland and thus has a very good infrastructure. Egilsstaðir has a domestic airport, diverse sports possibilities, a swimming pool with hotpot, 2 big supermarkets and various small shops, a youth and arts center, a health center, several nice restaurants and cafés and diverse accomodation possibilities, starting with a campingsite up to a luxury hotel. Close by are many beautiful tourist attractions, such as the former residence of the well-known writer Gunnar Gunnarson in Skriðuklaustur, the impressive waterfall Hengifoss, the biggest forest of Iceland Hallormsstaðaskógur, the small old harbour settlement Seyðisfjörður and the stunning mountain region of the East fjords, which is the destination of our horse-riding tours. Free local bus service between Fellabaer and Egilsstadir. Parking on the lot. Local Airport is 1 km away. Taxi service or Pickup by us . COVID 19 . To minimize infection risk we have increased general cleaning. All bedlinen is now washed at higher temperature. In addition we use disinfectants on all surfaces where it is suitable , especially on contact surfaces like door handles, switches, buttons etc. There is access to hand sanitizer for our guests. You can enter and leave the house by use of digital key box if you wish not to meet your host for safety reasons.
