The Boondocks is a cute, cozy tiny home located on Happy Soil Homestead just off I-59 and only one exit from the I-24 split near Trenton, GA. Only 13 minutes from downtown Chattanooga, you will enjoy the peaceful country atmosphere while surrounded by chickens, gardens, fresh air, and beauty. You will love the convenience if you’re traveling through, and there’s lots to do if you plan to stay a while. You’ll love our location! Just two easy turns off I-59 and you’ll feel like you’re out in the country. Happy Soil Homestead is located between two similar homesteads, with single family homes scattered along the road. The Boondocks tiny home is nestled between two huge magnolia trees across the front yard from your host’s home (about 75 ft apart). There is a nice, small fenced in area attached to the tiny home that is perfect for your dogs. Happy Soil Homestead is a 4 acre homestead with multiple organic gardens, muscadine vines, blueberry bushes, and fruit and nut trees. Chickens roam freely in the large fenced in area behind the host’s home. Let us know if you’d like to get up close and personal! The Tiny House is equipped with a very nice Composting Toilet. This means you will NOT have a regular flushing toilet. *Please note* For stays of 2 days or more, there is a possibility that the compost toilet may become full and you may have to discard waste. We have provided simple, detailed instructions (located with toilet in the tiny home) for ease of use and where to discard waste if/when it starts to get full. If we are home and you would like assistance, we will be happy to help. The kitchen is equipped with two plug in induction burners and a countertop Nuwave convection oven. (There is not a full size oven) There’s also a microwave, coffee maker and a blender. There are two queen size beds. The main bed is up in the loft, or ‘the bedroom’. The second bed can be made by opening up the futon in the ‘living room’. We have fast fiber optics internet. There is a smart tv so you have access to signing in to apps and streaming services you have an account with. Netflix, Hulu, etc. The deck has an outdoor table and comfy chairs for hanging out/eating/etc. Behind the tiny home, you’ll be able to enjoy your own private fire pit (also converts into a grill) and seating area. Self check in with door code sent to you morning of arrival. Feel free to wander the areas between and to the side of the houses. Explore the gardens and the greenhouses. During the appropriate seasons, we’ll be happy to help you pick fresh fruits and veggies for your meals. If you’re really adventuresome, you can help collect your daily half dozen eggs. Drew, the co host, is the one who lives on site. He will be as available to you as his work schedule and your comfort level allow. If you like privacy, he will wave in passing. If he's around and you’d like to know more about the farm and/or the area, he's available for conversation. And during planting and harvesting times, you’ll definitely see him out in the yard. We are located at the intersection of country and city. Thirteen minutes east and you’re in exciting downtown Chattanooga, where you will find the Aquarium, the Discovery Museum, the Hunter Museum of Art, the Chattanooga Choo Choo, many wonderful restaurants, music venues, and an active nightlife scene. Leave the tiny in any direction, and within five to fifteen minutes you are near hiking trails, rock climbing, hang gliding, boating, and everything the Tennessee River has to offer. Outdoor Magazine has twice named Chattanooga #1, and it’s easy to see why. You also have easy access to Cloudland Canyon, Rock City, Ruby Falls, Point Park, Savage Gulf, and many other attractions. Less than two miles away you’ll find Wilderness Theater (season opens April 2020), one of the few remaining drive-ins in the country! We recommend using your own vehicle, especially if you’re heading to any of the parks or outdoor areas. If you’re going into downtown Chattanooga, park your car once and then ride the free trolley or Rent-a-Bike to get around. If you prefer, you can use Uber. When at The Tiny, enter the shared driveway, keep to the right, and then park in the yard to the right near the tiny. Please do not park directly under the trees. We are committed to following Airbnb’s strict guidelines on cleaning. Pet policy: We love our pets and we understand why you want to bring yours. Pets are allowed with prior approval and an additional $25 fee. Well-trained dogs must remain on a leash unless they are in the tiny or inside the fence. You will be held 100% responsible for any damages or injuries involving other animals. If your pet destroys any chickens, there will be a $25 fee per bird. Please cover the futon with the white blanket provided if your dog will be joining you (located underneath stairs in cubby hole labeled ‘pet supplies’). Please do not allow your dog on the main bed up in the loft. Clean up bags will be provided for your dog’s waste. Your dog should be crated if left alone. Happy Soil Homestead is a working homestead with a large stand of woods behind the house. It is possible that you will see any number of critters and insects, including deer, turkey, possum, raccoons, spiders, ants, etc. We assure you that The Tiny will be sparkling clean, and if you do have any issues with outdoor critters, just let us know and we’ll take care of the issue as quickly as possible.
