The Lazy Lapa

Nestled on a small farm in beautiful Magaliesburg, only an hour away from Joburg and Pretoria, we offer a true, self-catering farm experience. The house is semi-detached from the main house and offers unique antique furnishings and decor. .We have a small farmstyle pool ideal for cooling down, sipping cocktails or listening to the nature around you. Nearby resorts welcome day visitors where you can swim laps and dive abundantly. We are based on theWest Rand, Gauteng and Cradle of Humankind The uniquely decorated open-plan house offers: • A main bedroom, with double bed, wardrobe and desk, with big barn doors for privacy. • Three single beds in the open-plan lounge/ dining area. • Down one step, a passage leads to the three bathrooms, one with a bath, one with toilet and washbasin, and the other with a shower. Bath towels are provided. • The kitchen is fully-equipped with a large fridge, a microwave, 2-plate gas stove, 2-plate electric stove with rotisserie, electric wok, toaster, and a tea and coffee station. • The dining area contains a 6-seater dining table and chairs. • The lounge area features a quaint wood-burning stove. • There is a TV that plays DVDs (large selection of dvds also provided). There is no DSTV. The outside area offers: • The spacious outdoor thatched lapa features a long rustic table that seats 12, and comfy sofas that seat 8. • Bar fridge and food warmer provided. • A small lovely farm dam (2.5 x 2m) ideal for sipping cocktails or listening to the sounds of the surrounding nature. • In addition, there is a large braai/barbeque area with adult as well as kiddies seating. • The hosts live on the premises, privacy for our guests is ensured, and you have exclusive use of the yard and dam area. The only things shared are the main entrance gate, the carport and the rooster, chickens, and tortoises. • Shaded, open-parking provided The hosts live on the premises, privacy for our guests is ensured, and you have exclusive use of the yard and pool area. Although we live on the same property, privacy for our guests is ensured, we are happy to communicate via texting and email. We request no loud noise in house after 10 p.m In the surrounding area: • Magaliesburg has long been known as a quaint village to visit. • There are many places of interest, including boutique and budget restaurants, near Hartebeespoort Dam, Cheese Farm, Elephant Sanctuary, Monkey Sanctuary, Rhino and Lion Park, Vulture restaurant, cable cars, hot air ballooning, historic sites, and more. • Close to the Cradle of Humankind • Close to famous venues such as Black Horse Brewery, De Hoek Boutique Hotel, Mount Grace, etc. • A stunning array of eateries in close proximity. • Hiking, cycling and running trails nearby, and many other outdoor activities. • On route to Sun City, Rustenburg, Botswana, Hartebeespoort. Easily travelled by standard sedan car. • Should you wish to braai/barbeque, please bring your own charcoal, firelighters, and wood. • Please bring your own ice. • While there are mosquito nets for all the beds, you are encouraged to bring mosquito repellent. • Binoculars for watching the abundant birdlife, including Kingfishers, Hornbills, and Blue Waxbills. • This is a self-catering venue, so bring all your food and drinks. • We do provide a small breakfast of freshly made scones or pastries. • There is a small, farm dam (2.5 x 2m) ideal for birdwatching or sipping cocktails. It is not suited for swimming laps or diving but resorts nearby with large pools welcome day visitors • House cleaning can be arranged for stays of 7 days and longer.
