9 The Green, Great Bowden

Our house is situated in the heart of the village with a cafe, deli and pub. Fabulous restaurants in the surrounding area, great country walks and plenty of outdoor activities with Foxton Locks, Rutland Water & Pitsford Lake nearby. You will love our home because of the modern light kitchen which opens onto a private garden with outdoor seating and barbecue area. Especially family friendly but also good for couples, solo adventurers and business travellers. The recent extension to the house has created a fabulous spacious kitchen/ dinning area, with underfloor heating. The custom built bar area has a large sofa/ day bed seating area which looks out onto the garden. Bi-fold doors open directly on the patio which is secure and secluded, south facing. 3 double bedrooms all have new comfortable beds. The children's room has a cabin bed and floor mattress for 2 children. Master bedroom has en suite shower room. The modern family bathroom has separate shower and bath. You will have access to the full house except the study. There is a large live in kitchen area, but also a separate sitting room. Please feel free to use all the kitchen appliances and kit, including the children's toys and books. Only a few cupboards will be marked as private. We have a key safe so you can let yourselves in at your convenience. We have a detailed welcome pack and if you have any questions please just give either Harry or Bex a call. Great Bowden is the perfect combination of a having a lovely country village feel but with all the amenities and convenience of a small town nearby. There are loads of lovely walks up to the canal and Market Harborough is a beautiful market town with interesting independent shops, great artisan food outlets, pubs and restaurants. Try out The Garage on Saturday morning in Market Harborough, for the best sourdough bread & bacon butties! Waterloo farm in Great Oxendon (10 minutes drive out of Market Harborough on the A508) is an award winning organic butcher and well worth a visit. And right on the green the newly opened Bowden Stores serves the best coffee in the area, with a gorgeous home interiors shop and the best brunch in the area. Weltons also on the green has a lovely delhi, post office and cafe. 5 minutes walk from the house is a lovely playground for children and the cricket pitch. We are 1 mile from Market Harborough train station. 1 hr train ride from St Pancras, London. 10 minutes to Leicester. And if you don't want to get in a car again for the weekend, you could enjoy the Great Bowden amenities including the Shoulder of Mutton pub, Weltons deli and convenience store and Bowden Stores coffee shop. Further afield we are not far from the beautiful villages of Medbourne and Hallaton where the famous Bottle Kicking takes place 17th April. Leicester is only 40 mins drive from us and Birmingham 50 mins. Please just be respectful of the parking on the village green. We have off road parking for 1 car, other guests will need to find a space on the green/ near the pub. Please do not to park in front of someone else's house.
