We have received accreditation from two Covid ready schemes, Visit England and the AA, having followed government approved cleaning protocols provided by The Professional Association of Self-Caterers (PASC UK) confirming we can safely welcome guests to Jack's Cottage. As part of this, by accessing the cottage guests will be confirming they have read and accept the Booking Conditions and are not displaying and have not displayed within the previous 10 days, symptoms of coronavirus, are not shielding, self isolating or in quarantine; are agreeing to notify us immediately if you develop symptoms during your stay and if tested positive will leave immediately to self isolate at your primary residence (full details in the cottage or on request); if you are contacted by Test & Trace whilst on holiday you must notify us immediately that you have been contacted by NHS Test and Trace and asked to self-isolate at home. Cleaning protocols on departure are different in these situations. If leaving is not reasonably possible you accept you may be liable for any fees for bookings affected by your self isolation at Jack's Cottage. You must notify us if you develop symptoms within 10 days of departure. We carry out a full Covid secure clean of the cottage prior to your arrival and provide hand sanitiser and antibacterial cleaning materials for use during your stay. In addition to the enhanced 'double cleaning' measures in place, the following measures will be implemented: Protective disposable gloves and masks to be worn during the cleaning process 'Double cleaning' between each visit - carry out our usual thorough clean and then again with a recommended virucidal sanitiser paying particular attention to high touch items and areas clearly detailed in the Cleaning Checklist as per approved .guidelines Wash all linens and towels including mattress and pillow protectors with non bio washing powder + Dettol Antibacterial Laundry Cleanser at the highest recommended temperature for the items Provide antibacterial hand sanitiser and hand soap for guests' use However, some things are slightly different from usual and we do require your cooperation with a few things: Please strip the bed before leaving. We're sorry to have to ask you to do this but research indicates 7/10 people who have had the antibody test did not have any symptoms. Removing bedding gives the opportunity to make the virus airborne (the main route for contracting the virus) hence the advice for asking guests to strip the beds themselves. Laundry bags will be provided in the wardrobe for all the bedding and towels and dressing gowns. Please remove all the bin liners, tie the handles and place in the green bin outside. To reduce the risk of touch contamination, we have decided to remove all non single use items from the cottage including grocery items in the kitchen, and whilst we will provide sachets for that first cup of tea or coffee, please bring your favourite tea and coffee, condiments and cooking oil. Individual single use washing up 'cleaning packs' will be provided, (together with tea towels and all bed linen and towels), and individual bottles of hand, hair and body wash in the shower room too. We have removed certain items from the cottage (e.g cards and board games) and kept soft furnishings and paper information leaflets to a minimum. We have also reduced the amount of kitchen equipment but if there is something you need please let us know and we will hopefully be able to provide it. We are so looking forward to welcoming guests old and new and hope the above measures will give you confidence to book your stay at Jack's Cottage.
