An open fire insitu to relax and unwind, cottage is carpeted in bedrooms&stairs 1 bathroom and fine finishing touches. The cottage is close to Machrihanish links Golf Course and Machrihanish Dunes course. Nearby are stunning beaches to explore and an array of wildlife to see. The cottage is extremely cosy and has 2 bedrooms with a flight of stairs to the upper floor where they are situated. Bedroom 1 and bedroom 2 have a double and a single bed each, a wardrobe, a chest of drawers,mirrors and a bedside cabinet. Both are carpeted and comfortable. Amzing views from both windows to Islay and Jura. The heating is ran by LPG gas, and hot water available via combi boiler. Heating is set at a comfortable temerature via WI_FI Fully enclosed garden space at the rear of the property for parking and a secure fence and double gates provides pet and children's safety. Access to the cottage is along a lane off the main road. To the front the cottage has lovely views over rolling countryside towards Machrihanish and out towards the Paps Of Jura and the Island of Islay. Fully equipped kitchen with hob and oven. fridge freezer, microwave, washing machine, toaster kettle and all crockery and utensils supplied. Condiments are supplied along with sachets of milk for your arrival. Tea, coffee, sugar also provided for your stay and a filtered water dispenser. The living room has a newly installed (February (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) multi fuel burner, a large sofa, a comfy chair to relax in, dining room table and 4 chairs, flat screen smart tv, access to prime video, Netflix, Bluray DVD, and Free wi-fi available in the cottage. The bathroom is on the ground floor and has a walk in shower, toilet and wash hand basin. The cottage itself is located in a country location only 2.5 miles from Campbeltown ( 6 minute drive ) situated on B842 Southend road. There is a bus stop right outside the cottage to link you to Machrihanish, Southend or Campbeltown. The ferry to the Islands Of Gigha, Jura and Islay is within easy reach of the cottage. There is a ferry service in the summer months from Ardrossan to Campbeltown and the cottage itself is a 3 hour car journey from Glasgow. The cottage is close by to Campbeltown airport at Machrihanish which has a daily return flight Monday to Friday. The whole house I won't be available in person for your stay, but will be available at all times during your stay by txt, phone or email. (Hidden by Airbnb) Agricultural land surrounds the cottage with grazing cattle and sheep.The cottage is one of 4 and the neighbours are friendly and helpful. From the cottage you are only a few minutes drive to the famous Machrihanish links golf courses whereby the 1st hole is a mere drive over the atlantic ocean. Kintyre also has a few other golf courses within easy reach. Campbeltown itself is a mere 2.5-3 miles away just a 6 minute drive or (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) minute walk along the main road which has no pavement for the 1st mile. For those who enjoy walking, the Kintyre Way provides a long distance walk (87 miles) from Tarbert to Southend. Various scenic walks can be accessed in the local area and around the Kintyre Peninsula. Campbeltown has a cinema which was one of the first purpose built cinemas in Scotland in (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) It is a Grade A listed building unique with a Glasgow school art nouveau exterior and an equally impressive interior. It has been completely restored and largely unaltered in December (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) and is well worth a visit. Campbeltown itself has a good selection of smaller shops and a CO-OP, Tesco and a library that has internet access. From the harbour in Campbeltown, at low tide you can walk the mile long shingle causeway to the island where there are 7 caves to explore,one of which contains a life size cave painting depicting the crucifixtion painted in (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) by Archibald Mckinnon. Campbeltown has a population of 5,000 with a selection of bars and hotels. It also has a swimming pool/leisure centre and a pontoon where many a travelling yacht is moored. Campbeltown is a fishing community and fishing boats still trawl the waters for clams and prawns. Campbeltown is famous for it's 3 whisky distilleries, annual Music festival and the annual Mull Of Kintyre half marathon (if you fancy a run!!) The cottage is close proximity to the sea with an array of beautiful dog friendly beaches to explore. There is plenty opportunity to spot wildlife such as otters, buzzards and seals lounging on the rocks and even the wild goats at Machrihanish that roam freely can be seen. There is also a seabird and wildlife observatory at Machrihanish. Here you can view an array of seabirds and passing migrants. Around 200 bird species have been recorded from this location including several rarities. Seals and otters are seen regularly, and porpoises and whales can be seen occasionally. If you walk southward around half a mile you will come to a dramatic bay bay backed by an amphitheatre of cliffs, the Gauldrons. Westport beach is stunning with views towards the Paps of Jura and Islay and is a surfers paradise which is approx 6 miles away from the cottage. Southend beach is 7 miles away and Carradale Bay is 14 miles. Many smaller beaches are within easy reach. Good bus link from Glasgow to Campbeltown with West Coast Motors and ferry links to the Islands of Gigha, Jura and Islay and further east you can take the ferry from Skipness to the Island Of Arran. From Easter onwards there is a ferry link from Ardrossan to Campbeltown with a stop at Brodick on the Island of Arran should you wish. A car would be useful to get around the Kintyre peninsular to take in the stunning scenery of the rugged West Coast of Scotland. A bus stop is right outside the cottage door which links Campbeltown, Machrihanish and Southend. There is also a daily return flight Monday to Friday with Loganair from Glasgow airport to Campbeltown airport at Machrihanish. It is ideal to have own transport in order to explore the beautiful parts of Kintyre and the surrounding islands. A keypad safe is installed on the wall at the back door where you will be informed of the code a few days before your arrival. Directions from Campbeltown travel towards Stewarton, Drumlemble and Machrihanish on B843 Witchburn Road. Turn left at Stewarton and travel a mile along the B842 Southend road. Turn left at Knocknaha Farm sign (just after phone box) and sharp right after red post box into a private lane and the cottage is 3rd one along. Please ensure to follow these directions as it is number 3 Knocknaha Cottage NOT Knocknaha Cottage the 1st cottage. The cottage sits low down on the B842 road and road traffic will be heard.
