Seaside Apartment, Bathsheba, St. Joseph, Barbados

Seaside Apartment has a spacious air-conditioned bedroom with two twin beds that can be converted into a kingsize bed; living and dining area; small kitchen with a food cart; and a bathroom with a shower. A third person can sleep on a raised airbed for US15 per night. The property is facing Bathsheba Park and the ocean, not far from the Soup Bowl where international surfing competitions are held. There is a small supermarket 5 mins by car. If you don't want to cook, there are places to eat. The apartment walls are painted in a beautiful corn cob yellow. The floors are covered with 20 inch square variegated tiles of yellow, mixed with tones of brown and grey. There are pictures and a clock on the living walls, and pictures on the bedroom walls. There is air conditioning in the bedroom and enough fans including a large ceiling fan to keep you cool. The living space is adequate and the bedroom and bathroom are spacious. There are screens at all windows and door. No need to cook: a few eating places around from the little Sea Side bar and Sam's Garage Grill to Dina's, the elegant Roundhouse Inn and Atlantis Hotel restaurant. Personal laundry is $10 a load with free soap and softener. I live upstairs and can be available if needed. The area is quiet and safe; a tourist stop. Plenty of surfers especially in the winter season. There is a small Anglican Church where service is held every Sunday at 7.30AM and 9.30AM. People are helpful and friendly. Seaside Bar, nearby, sells the best rum punches on evenings. Coconut water with a dash of rum is also a favourite drink from the vendors. Public transportation is available hourly for BD2.00 (USD1.00) to the main shopping areas in Bridgetown and every two hours to Speightstown. There is no need to cook, UNCLE JOE'S BAR AND GRILL, IS 3 MINUTES WALK FROM SEASIDE; it is new and is open until 9pm or later. Excellent service. Ask for HEATHER (CANADIAN) MANAGER. Dina's Restaurant is in view but closes at 6pm. Seaview Bar and Garage Grill not far away are both open until late.
