The Sleepy Explorer's Globe.
** it’s currently very cold in the woods so come prepare with plenty of layers** The globe is situated in a 2 acre patch of woodland, surrounded by fields and walks. We have specifically opted for no wifi so you can completely switch off and just enjoy the nature around you or just snuggle up with a warm drink next to the wood burner or fire pit! We’ll treat you to a hamper with the basics. Our aim is to be a low impact area so you'll have a composting loo and a shower with a view ** if you’re staying during the winter months, it’s cold, so bring plenty of layers and be prepared for winter in the woods! ** You have free roam of the woods, so soak in all the beauty of the pines, oaks, we have four red oak trees that are hundreds of years old, which really captivate the senses and cause the viewer to speculate all the people that have stood before it. The globe itself is snug and cosy, sleeping three people, one double bed and one single bed. There isn't any electric heating but its got a wood burner for those colder nights and its well insulated so usually just the occupants body temperature is enough to keep it at that perfect sleeping temperature during summer months, but during the winter you’ll need the log burner. The globe is four acres away from our house, so we're always close by to deal with any issues, that being said we have three children under four (two of which are 8 months) so they keep me very occupied. So, you'll be left to your own devices unless you have an issue. Hallaton was in the top 10 villages in England, (said the guardian), its got some fantastic pubs close by, the fox has a great beer garden and its always open, so we are often inundated with walkers. Hallaton is rich in history! We host the famous bottle kicking, which is thought to be the origin of rugby, two villages basically play rugby with a traditional beer keg and who ever gets it to their village first, wins. The people of England believed Hallaton had healing waters, so historically people would make pilgrimages to bathe in the natural waters. There is a small lake by your globe, so youre welcome to take a dip to see if you feel healed! Wild swimming is permitted at your own risk. if you download the ordnance survey app, you'll be able to view all the wonderful walks near us. Unfortunately there's no public transport in the village, so a car would be vital.
