Get back to the life of our grandfathers, to the life of ancient Slavonia. Spend your free moments in the peace of „Eco-ethno village“ Stara Kapela at the ,,Tucina Kuća“, household. Get back to the life of our grandfathers, to the life of ancient Slavonia. Spend your free moments in the peace of Stara Kapela at the ,,Tucina Kuća“, household, opened for individual visits as well as families or touristic groups. The household „Tucina Kuca“, is settled in the „Eco-ethno village“, Stara Kapela and consist of an old village house equipped with original furniture in slavonian style and turned into double bed appartrnent and of the barn which once was used for hay storage and equipment stock. The upper level hay storage was turned into a 4 bed appartrnent and also equipped with antique slavonic mobiles. In the area of the once used stable, a tavern with an open fireplace was set for our visitors, massive oak tables and benches, a tap-room made of old oak beams and planks, and floor of old bricks. With low light and snapping fire in the fireplace a perfect ambience is made for enjoying the rural environment. From the tavern we pass into another restaurant space with 50 persons capacity also made and equipped in ancient style, old bricks, old oak beams and roof tiles, with massive oak tables and benches. A special atmosphere in this space is given by the three-sided panoramic windows, so one feels like being outside. In the barn, there is a modern equipped kitchen for preparing delicious original dishes of the region and for dishes a' la carte. the household ,,Tucina Kuca“, has got a very large court-yard with other household's buildings, a pleasant summer house, for afternoon siestas, tea, coffee, outdoor owen, an orchard with tables and benches, a barbecue - for our guests. Our guests can also have the pleasure of ecologicaly grown vegetables from our gardens, and not to forget the tandem bicicles to drive around sightseeing the beauties of this land. We leave our quests in peace, and only come periodically to maintain the yard and for cleaning. The small slavonic village of Stara Kapela is situated on the slopes of the Poiega mount. The road ends up in the village and the cell phones here have no signal. But if you might need a telephone there are phone booths and ground lines. The valley has been proclaimed as a touristic area and it has plenty of water springs (9 bigger springs). The village itself has a long tradition and the historical roots reaches in the far year 1275... here existed a fort «Grad Potok. - (Spring town) owned by the Gorjan nobility. It has developed around the fort and scattered on the surrounding hills... In the 15th and the 16th century there was a Turks breach and most of the population was taken to slavery. In the second half of the 17th century with the rebellion of Rev. Luka Ibrigimovid the Turks were expelled but still with occasional intrusions and in the 1758. they destroyed the Chapel of Saint Marc, while the actual Chapel of The Holy Ascension was built in the 1760. the village gets its actual shape and lowers in the valley by the order of the Emperoress Maria Theresa. At that age the village was part of the .vojna krajina,, - military frontier at the border toward the Turks. Driven by love for our native land and the place where our ancestors were born, we decided to revive the Stara Kapela (Old Chapel) and on one different, specific basis through the project of the eco-ethno village, transforming the village itself in an interesting touristic destination as a (village-hotel), respectful of the traditional Slavonian architecture, cultural values, traditions etc... Car or bike is needed. 4 km from nearest railway station. No cell phone signal, sporadically signal can be received. We have free WiFi.
