Sunny patio and enclosed garden with BBQ. Located in the heart of beautiful Strangford village, next to shop and a number of restaurants / pubs close by. Walks, cycle trails, Castleward, Strangford ferry and beaches all on the door step. Lots of local attractions and amenities. <1 hour from Belfast. We are delighted to be awarded a 4 star grading from Tourism NI. From the outside this looks like an traditional Irish village house. Completely rebuilt approximately 5 years ago, inside it is a spacious and stylish modern property. The Red Door is professionally managed, immaculately clean and kept in perfect condition. The open plan ground floor includes a well appointed kitchen, dinning area, toilet and large living room with double doors opening onto a sunny patio. The living room is a beautiful space with wooden flooring, comfortable seating and stove (fuel provided). There are internet enabled TVs with DVD in the kitchen, living room and master bedroom, also Bluetooth speakers on the ground floor. The south facing garden is well maintained with a lawn, fruit trees, plants and flowers. The patio is a sheltered sun trap with outdoor furniture provided, completely private, an ideal location for breakfast in the open air. BBQ is provided. Modern heating and hot water systems work seamlessly in the background with the option for manual control if you wish. On the 1st floor are 2 double bedrooms and a family bathroom. All bedrooms are spacious with built in wardrobes. Bedding and towels are supplied. On the second floor the 3rd bedroom has 3 single beds. All beds have comfortable high quality new mattresses. Facilities include broadband wifi and LAN in all rooms, bluetooth speakers, USB charging points, washing machine / dryer, fully equipped kitchen including dishwasher. The Red Door is very child friendly by design with baby cot, stair gates, baby bath, high chair and baby monitors available. Kids toys and games are provided. Parking is readily available on the street outside (no cost/permit) with an option of off road parking at the rear. A shed in the garden is available to store bikes or other equipment if needed. You will find a welcome pack on arrival with a selection of goodies. All essential items are supplied including bin bags, washing powder, dishwasher tablets, hand wash, toilet rolls and more. We have a very comprehensive guide containing all information you may need during your stay, this will be emailed prior to your arrival. We tend to be booked solid throughout the busy months, book early to avoid disappointment. You have full and exclusive access to the house and garden. You will be welcomed to the house on arrival and shown all the essentials. You will have contact details should you need anything or have questions during your stay (we live close by). Strangford is one of Irelands most beautiful coastal villages. Located at the mouth of Strangford Lough the Viking name means "Strong Fjford" due to the fast tidal currents. It is an ideal base for touring large parts of Ireland, North and South. An idyllic picturesque rural location but less than 1 hour to Belfast, and Dublin approximately 2 hours away. A designated area of outstanding natural beauty and national marine reserve Strangford lough offers a host of activities from scenic walks, world class golf to adventure sports. For a small village Strangford is blessed with many local amenities, renowned restaurants and traditional Irish pubs, all a short stroll away. Strangford is connected by ferry to the town of Portaferry on the other side of the Narrows. An attraction in itself the ferry service dates back to 1180 and is one of the oldest recorded ferry crossings in the world. The National Trust Castleward Estate adjoins Strangford village. Game of Thrones fans will know it as the set of Winterfell. It has miles of beautiful coastal and forest trails to walk or cycle., a historic manor house and castles. The local area is known as St Patricks Country with many associations with Ireland's national Saint. The nearest town is Downpatrick, the burial place of St Patrick. Strangford is linked by regular bus to nearby Downpatrick. Car is the most convenient way to get to and from Strangford, however, you can park up and relax once you arrive. All amenities are a short walk away. There is easy on and off street parking available. Belfast City Airport is less than 1 hour away. Belfast International Airport just over 1 hour. Dublin airport approx. 2 hrs.
