Bob and Celia would be delighted to welcome you to La  Petite Roche, a comfortable and imaginative restoration of a  stone built Provencal country house,one wing of which we have created our 1-2 bedroomed gite apartment. The atmosphere we like to create is restful and friendly.  In the shady gardens and  grounds, there are plenty of peaceful places to sit quietly reading, chatting over a glass of rosé under the willow tree, sitting by the pool, or even snoozing under the arch on the day bed . The Region The calm, beauty and magnificent  varied scenery of the Drome Provençal has been acclaimed by many travel writers including the Daily Telegraph, the Sunday Times and le Figaro .There are plenty of good, local  restaurants nearby to try with all commerce and supermarkets within minutes drive.  The numerous Cotes de Rhone vineyards are great fun for a tasting day out.  There are many historic Roman and medieval sites to visit and the local French are warm hearted and welcoming. Location We are in the hidden part of old Provence, but which is conveniently situated and  the airports of Avignon, Nimes, Marseille, Grenoble and Lyon are all under 2 hours drive, with the TGV stations of Valence and Avignon at 55 minutes and the A7 motorway at 15 minutes away. The Pool The good size heated infinity pool (11x5mts) with cascade has lovely views, plenty of sun beds, a pergola and shady willow tree. Our Petite Roche gite apartment is surrounded by some great views of the mountains and sunflower fields around us and has independent access and private parking. The stone steps from the mineral garden lead to the peaceful terrace with dining furniture, shade and a BBQ. The French windows lead into the airy sitting /dining room. The gite is imaginatively decorated with interesting artefacts, original art pieces and rugs haggled for in the Marrakesh souk. The furnishings are comfortable and the lime washed walls reflect the ochre and terracotta pigments of old Provence. . The 2nd bedroom, when required, at reasonable supplement,, has: Super king size bed (again possible to change and provide 2 singles), large shower,   then a separate wc / and inlaid marble and slate sink. (The 2nd bedroom has its own access or can be accessed through main bedroom) The basic essentials to know and help you unwind and start your holiday: The gite is thoroughly cleaned before your arrival, with all bathrooms, kitchen and pool towels provided. In summer the sitting room is air conditioned and there is central heating throughout. We leave you a decent bottle of wine and a welcome basket with ingredients for a simple meal and breakfast. Shower gel, hand soap and hair dryer provided in the bathrooms Comfortable beds (all made up for you). We are very happy to provide a shopping service, and if you let us know of your requirements before your arrival, we will make sure they are bought and any perishable goods put away in the fridge or freezer.
