The Hostel at Mackay's is a simple, small hostel but what it offers is definitely not on a small scale, set amongst powerful mountains and coastal scenery commanding spectacular views over the North Atlantic Ocean. This true wee gem is owned and managed by Robbie and Fiona Mackay who pride themselves on the warm atmosphere and genuine highland hospitality on offer to all visitors. You will have your own small private room (2 persons). The Kitchen, lounge, bathrooms and the lovely deck with sea views are shared places. Guests can use the whole building. The hostel is located in the heart of Durness, the most north westerly village in mainland Britain. An isolated rural community on the top of the map. Life in Durness is simple - we ask our visitors to respect our environment, help our economy and spread the word.
