This pretty south facing country house is full of light, charm and comfort. There are 4 double bedrooms and a 5th. with 2 single beds (ideal for children). There are 3 bathrooms with traditional baths, one adjoining the master bedroom. This family home is situated fifteen minutes walk from the sea at Lulworth cove on the unspoiled Purbeck coast. It is set on a hillside with wide south facing views to the sea and surrounding fields and hills. Built of Purbeck stone around the beginning of the last century it is set in two acres of secluded terraced lawns and gardens including a grass tennis court and croquet lawn. The very fully equipped kitchen has an Aga cooker as well as an extra oven and hob. There is a pretty spacious dining room with a large round 18th. century dining table and sideboard. The large living room has an open fire, a piano and french doors to the terrace. There is a huge marble table with seating for summer eating on the south facing terrace and there is a sun umbrella and barbecue. The house is secluded and situated on a terraced hillside overlooking the village of West Lulworth with views to the surrounding fields and to the sea. There are terraced lawns and gardens to the front of the house and a large enclosed area including a full size grass tennis court with croquet lawn, large trampoline and pavilion containing sports equipment and table tennis. The Lulworth area is notable for its wonderful walks and and spectacular 'Jurassic' coastline including Durdle Door and Kimmeridge bay where there is the recently opened Etches fossil museum. Good local places for swimming include Lulworth cove, Durdle Door beaches and Kimmeridge. Within easy reach are Corfe Castle with its spectacular ruins, Weymouth Bay and Abottsbury.
