Crab Apple Tree Lodge, Cherry Tree Lodge* and The Loft* all form part of BigSquareHouse, an ancient converted farmhouse in the village of Poresinec. All are fully furnished and equipped; the shared courtyard swimming pool with sliding doors offers both indoor and outdoor use. The property, surrounded by fields and woods, ideal for walking and cycling, is close to the river. The town of Kaplice is a short drive away and historic Cesky Krumlov approx 20 mins drive. *See separate listings The Lodge is accessed via its own front door. The accommodation is arranged on 2 floors with an open-tread pine staircase leading up from the ground floor. On the open plan ground floor a fitted kitchen with a full range of appliances, crockery and utensils; dining space with seating for 4; lounge area with Smart TV; downstairs cloakroom. There is a cupboard stack full of games and books for all ages. Independently controlled radiators keep you warm and comfortable in the winter regardless of how cold it is outside. The French doors lead on to a shared terrace then into the quadrangle courtyard, with outdoor seating and adjoining BBQ area - so fun in the sun or in the snow. The indoor pool with its wall of folding doors is accessed from the courtyard. The main bedroom is furnished with a King Size bed, Bedroom 2 with a Double bed. Both beds are dressed with 400 thread count linen and decorated with prints and a shelf full of books. Fully fitted 'Jack and Jill' bathroom accessed independently from each bedroom with bath, shower. toilet, bidet. All bed linen and towels and pool towels are provided and a Welcome pack will greet you on arrival. Wi-Fi throughout Czech TV stations are available despite a slight misunderstanding in one of our reviews. Our Czech property manager lives locally and will be on hand to help with everything - including recommendations for ways to see the area and provide you with information re cycling, walking, fishing, mushroom picking, sightseeing.....or just relaxing! He’s a former national fishing champion! Crab Apple Tree Lodge is in the village of Poresinec, 3 miles from our local town of Kaplice, where you will find 2 local supermarkets with daily fresh bread and breakfast pastries; plus a variety of shops and an excellent pizza restaurant! The world famous ancient town of Cesky Krumlov is approx 20 mins drive away; set on the river, its historic spectacular castle dominates the town with its breathtaking cobbled streets and painted buildings. It offers a variety of shops, from traditional crafts through to modern designers, and every sort of dining from cafes, bars, local Czech dining, vegetarian, to fine dining. The local taxi service run by our English speaking friend is inexpensive. He can arrange any transport you need from locally to a trip to Prague. We can recommend a day spent in Prague before taking an evening flight home, and can recommend a great tour guide. Fly into either Linz or Prague.
