Skyggnir B&B 4 - small double room w/ garden view
Our 6 bedrooms each have their own colour and theme. This room has a Queen size bed. There is a small shared living room, that offers to sit together and relax with a cup of tea or coffee. Our farm invites to a short evening stroll, laying between 2 small rivers. The nearby village offers almost anything you will need. Our family of 4 is looking forward to welcoming you on our farm. Breakfast will be available for a small fee. The house used to be a living house until summer of 2017. Therefore it is great for groups up to 15 people. The drinking water (cold) in Iceland is one of the best you will find, so no worries using tap water. Beware on the other hand of the hot water: we are situated in a geothermal area, the water comes directly from the springs into our houses, therefore it contains sulfur (bad smell and taste) and can be up to 97°C, if you don't mix it with cold water. Also the heaters can get extremely hot, if opening too far. The plugs are type F. Shared kitchen with everything you will need, from a coffee cup to baking utensils for the birthday cake of your friend... Two shared bathrooms with showers, small living room, but Wifi is available in all the rooms. There is a swingset outside of the house, a small terrasse and enough space for a walk, some outside games... I will welcome you and show you your room, answer any questions that might come to your mind and live just up on the farm in the older house, if anything should come up. In the mornings I will fix breakfast for those who want. We are about 3 km (1.8 miles) from the next village Fludir. There you can find a bakery, a shop, a wine shop, a gas station, all fresh vegetables, that are grown in Iceland directly from the farmers and 5 restaurants (some seasonal). About 12 km (7.5 miles) away is a wonderful horse rental and within that range are 2 golf courses and football golf and frisbee golf. We are perfectly situated for daytours in the South, the West and the inside (Highlands) of Iceland. To get to us, you take road number 1 from Reykjavik, turn on road 30 and then turn on road 344, where you will reach our farm within 5 minutes. The buses 72 and 73 go to Fludir and by arrangement it might be possible to pick you up at the station. Special occasions in Flúðir are 6th January, where we farewell Christmas with a bonfire and fireworks (see pics), 17th June - Independance day, first weekend of August, when we celebrate that the Monday is a holiday and the 2nd Friday in September, where we sort our sheep, that just came back down from the mountains. And on New Year's Eve we usually have a bonfire and then the view over the whole area...
