Architect house in wood and glass nestled at 1000 m altitude, between meadows and forests, at the exit of the small village of Aunat. Huge picture windows and a large terrace let enjoy a spectacular view of the mountains and the Sault plateau. It is an ideal setting to enjoy the seasons in peace: hiking, mountain biking, mushrooms, deer slaps ... or just contemplate the landscape. With all the comfort and a "nomadic" decor, the interior life is organized around the large central fireplace. A garden attached to the house is perfect for grilling, naps under the birch, or just watching the stars around the brazier. You can enjoy the whole house and garden and our large orchard, sometimes occupied by sheep. Only the kitchen garden (and adjoining garden chalet) are not open access but we will be happy to show you around and talk about organic gardening and permaculture. Equipment: On the ground floor: kitchen open to the living room and scullery (traditional oven, plate 5 gas, fridge-freezer, dishwasher, washing machine), living room with TV, fireplace and corner reading, 1 bedroom 2pl, 1 bathroom with bath and walk-in shower. Independent toilet. Upstairs, 2 bedrooms open on the terrace: a huge with sink and panoramic views, the other with sink + large walk-in shower overlooking the mountains. Independent toilet. The south-facing terrace is ideal for dining and bird watching (telescope and binoculars available). Sheets and towels provided. The environment: The small village of Aunat, on the Sault plateau (high valley of the Aude), is a haven of peace where the silence is barely disturbed by the cowbell and the work of the fields ... Totally preserved area classified Natura 2000, it is the departure of many hikes (road of the fir trees, Vauban road, peak of the Ourthiset, raptor observatory) on foot or by mountain bike. Multiple possibilities of excursions: Cathar castles (Usson, Puivert, Montaillou), animal parks of the angles or Orlu, thermal baths of Ax, city of Foix and Mirepoix, lakes of the Give, Capcir, Cerdanya, Andorra ... several ski resorts nearby (Camurac, Mijanès). The surrounding farms allow you to taste local organic products. A small grocery store offers local produce in the nearby village.
