Wonderful apartment with stunning views of the Orbetello lagoon oasis. The apartment consists of a lounge with a view and a small balcony, a kitchen with a small balcony, a hallway of the sleeping area, a double bedroom, a study / bedroom with a very comfortable double sofa bed, two bathrooms. Bicycles are available for guests. ** GUEST ACCESS ** Clean towels and sheets. Wifi. TV. Washing machine. Dishwasher. Fireplace. Bicycles. **THE DISTRICT** The city of Orbetello stands in the middle of the lagoon of the same name and is joined to Monte Argentario by a road built on an artificial embankment (the dam), which divided the lagoon into two bodies of water ("Laguna di Levante" and " Western Lagoon "). The lagoon, which enjoys a wonderful view from the apartment, is home to the WWF oasis and thanks to its position along the migratory routes, it sees the concentration of thousands of birds, including the fascinating pink flamingos. The municipal area is extremely varied; the lagoon wetland is delimited towards the sea by two bobbins (the Tombolo della Feniglia and the Tombolo della Giannella) characterized by long sandy beaches, pine forests and Mediterranean scrub. ** A TOUR IN THE SURROUNDINGS ** The closest beaches are those of the two tombolos of Giannella and Feniglia, which delimit the Orbetello Lagoon to the north and south respectively and separate it from the sea. They are two sandy beaches, with establishments and comfortable for families. The Feniglia, with sand is fine and clear and a low seabed which makes it very suitable for children. There are some bathing establishments, with restaurants and bars on the beach, but for the most part the beach is free and in some places it is decidedly wild and deserted even in the high season. Behind the beach there is the beautiful pine forest of the Duna Feniglia Nature Reserve where it is easy to spot deer. The Reserve is crossed by an unpaved road that can be traveled on foot or by bicycle (it is closed to urban traffic) to reach the beach. The Tombolo della Giannella is a strip of land about 6 km long, which goes from Monte Argentario to the mouth of the Albegna river. The sandy beach extends along the entire length of the tombolo and is sheltered from the sirocco winds. There are many bathing establishments, and long stretches of free beach, you will also find bars and restaurants on the beach. The seabed slopes slowly and therefore children can play in peace. The accesses to the sea are numerous and clearly visible. Giannella is a beach suitable for sailing sports. However, if a walk in the fragrant Mediterranean scrub does not scare you, equip yourself with water, fruit, sandwich, rock shoes and leave for one of the coves of the promontory, with its transparent water, enchanting natural beauty and never too crowded: it often does not take not even the cell phone, and I confess that I don't ask for anything better to disconnect from the world! Leaving Porto Santo Stefano and following the Panoramic road, you will see the coves open below you. Definitely worth seeing Cala Grande and Cala Piccola. On the side of Porto Ercole, after passing the village and always on the Panoramica there is the Long Beach: just follow the signs for Forte Stella and at its height, before taking the crossroads that will suit you, park along the road in the beaches and then take some ladders that enter the bush; a little further on, leaving the car just before the Hotel "Il Pellicano" and taking a path of 200 meters, there is the Acqua Dolce, so called because of the underground aquifers that flow directly into the sea. Definitely worth visiting the villages of Porto Ercole (8km) and Porto Santo Stefano (12 km) united by a wonderful panoramic road. Also worth seeing is Ansedonia (9km) and the WWF Oasis of Lake Burano (15km). You can dedicate yourself to your favorite sports: Golf (Argentario Golf Club and Saturnia Golf Club), mountain bike trails, sailing, windsurfing and kite surfing, snorkeling, fishing. With the children, an exciting fishing trip to collect nets with Paolo the Fisherman and a visit to the famous Tarot Garden (23km), where immersed in a spontaneous Mediterranean garden made of laurels, fragrant myrtles, rosemary and downy oak, cannot be missing. large sculptures appear that represent the Major Arcana of the Tarot by the French-American artist Niki de Saint Phalle and inspired by Gaudi. You can also extend your visit through Capalbio, a wonderful village where you can taste Maremma specialties in its many restaurants. If you want to go further, surely you can enjoy a little relaxation at the natural waterfalls of Saturnia (50km) or at the prestigious spas (55km). In fact, from the subsoil of Saturnia a hot sulphurous water (37.5 ° C.) flows, with which you can enjoy particularly pleasant and healthy baths at any time of the year. Saturnia is also known for the landscape and nature of the Maremma, the small and very ancient village of Etruscan origin, the numerous archaeological sites, a very popular typical cuisine, and the golf course (18 holes par72), which make this place to say the least. not very charming. To visit also the villages of Pitigliano (58km), among the most beautiful villages in Italy, Sovana (58km) and Sorano (67km). The distance from Orbetello Scalo railway station is 3 km, from Rome Fiumicino airport of 135 km, from Ciampino airport and from Rome 155 km.
