The Bothy is a well-appointed, contemporary two storey scandi-style, detached holiday cottage. It is suitable for one or two people who wish to explore Norfolk from its central location in comfort & privacy. There is ample parking and a lovely small orchard to the rear for guests' private use. Lots of nice things are included to make your stay enjoyable & we welcome everyone from all over the world. Price includes cleaning. Extra charge for use of EV charger & one-off charge per dog. Through the front door is a large modern, eat-in kitchen with all major appliances for your convenience, including dishwasher, washer/dryer and wall mounted flat screen TV. Also on the ground floor is a bright, spacious bedroom with French doors leading into the orchard. The bed is kingsized, with a new, hotel quality mattress. There is also a modern white suite bathroom, with shower over a full sized bath. Stairs from the kitchen lead towards a large contemporary sitting room above the whole of the ground floor of the house. Furnished with new, modern sofas and a wall mounted fire for an extra glow on chilly days. The Bothy has a new, full LPG central heating system, with hot water on demand. There is a large flat screen TV and other appliances for your comfort and entertainment. Luxury bedding, towels, WiFi, artwork and vintage touches complete the unique interior of this destination rental. A welcome pack awaits you on arrival with provisions for your first breakfast and some local goodies for your stay. Talk to or email Julie or Graham and we will endeavour to meet all of your requirements. The village shop is a short walk or drive away. Hamptons Barn almost opposite the property serves breakfasts, light lunches and afternoon teas. Also at the nearby Bawdeswell Garden Centre, where there is a large restaurant/cafeteria. Dereham and Fakenham are a short drive away & have major supermarkets. Algy's Farm Shop is 2 miles up the road, selling fresh, home grown & local Norfolk produce. There are several dining in pubs a short drive away & a bar (The Old Workhouse Bar) which is within walking distance in Bawdeswell village. Perfect for a long weekend, midweek break or longer. Minimum stay 5 nights. Guests can use the entire space, including the orchard to the rear of the property. The drive is shared with Jasmine House, where the owners live, but there is a turning circle & ample space to park in front on the guest accommodation. The owners, Julie & Graham, live in the farmhouse next to the property and will be at hand throughout your stay. Bawdeswell is a small village on the borders of North Norfolk. One of Chaucer's characters in The Canterbury Tales - The Reeve, is said to have come from here. The Bothy @ Jasmine House Norfolk, is situated on the edge of the village, but the village is easily within short walking or driving distance. The beauty of this location, is that you can visit the city of Norwich (12 miles), the beautiful North Norfolk Coast at Wells-Next-the-Sea & Blakeney for example, and Wroxham - the gateway to The Broads all within a 20 mile radius. The countryside is famous for its 'big skies,' wildlife, birdwatching & historical towns, churches & stately homes. The beautiful Georgian town of Holt is 15 miles away along pretty country roads. Reepham, another historic small town is just 4 miles away, where there is a doctors surgery. Fakenham, 10 miles away has a famous racecourse & a lovely market on Thursdays. There are plenty of walks nearby & the landscape is not as flat as most people imagine in this part of Norfolk. There is something to do all the year round and we are very close to Pensthorpe Natural Park - one of Norfolk's major attractions. Norfolk is now renowned as a 'foodie' county. Asparagus & strawberries are grown nearby & the seafood on the coast is spectacular. There are award winning restaurants all within easy reach for those times when you want to spoil yourselves. The Bothy is close to public transport by buses which can be caught in the village. Mainline stations are in Norwich & other nearby towns. The Bothy is next to the A1067, which is busy at peak times and at Bank Holidays because it links Norwich to Fakenham. There is no street lighting, and there is very little traffic at night. There are automatic external lights which can be used to gain access to the property at night. We accept one medium or two small house trained dogs. Please notify us if you are bringing a pet, and adhere to our house rules regarding them. There is a one-off charge of £33 per dog per stay. Please ask about EV charging. This is also at additional cost.
