Converted WW11 air raid shelter

A beautiful and unique self contained private space, set in a walled garden, only a couple of minutes walk from Littlehampton's East Beach. This unique rental is a WW2 converted air raid shelter, situated in the garden of your hosts. As a completely self-contained property, the air raid shelter has its own private entrance and includes the sole use of a sheltered, walled garden where you can enjoy the seaside sunshine and the sound of seagulls, but without the sea breeze. There is an outside dining table with rattan armchairs where you can enjoy meals or just soak up some sun. A barbecue can be provided on request. There is also a summer-house/outside sitting room where you can enjoy the secluded garden out of the coastal breezes and have a leisurely meal. The air raid shelter has been lovingly converted into a beautiful bijou space, perfect for couples on a romantic mini-break, or as a retreat for writers or artists seeking solitude from the hustle and bustle of everyday life -- think of a luxurious and stylish shepherd's hut and you will get the flavour of this unique space! Free Wi-Fi is available but once you close the door on your own little hideaway, you may find you’re happy to switch off your phones and laptops, at least for a while! The accommodation is comprised of two rooms: a compact double bedroom with a small kitchen area, and a bathroom with a large roll-top bath, bubble bath included! (the priority here is indulgent relaxation rather than slaving over a hot stove). The double bed has cotton bed linen, luxury feather duvet and pillows, (this can be changed for guests with allergies) with storage underneath for suitcases. There is a small desk/table with dining stools in the same room and a small library of books and dvds with a television which has an integrated dvd player. The compact but well-designed kitchen area includes a small fridge, kettle, toaster, microwave and a cafetiere. Breakfast Hamper --- Tea, coffee, hot chocolate, sugar and milk are provided, along with a breakfast hamper offering a choice of either bagels, white or brown bread, either marmalade, cream cheese or jam and apple or orange juice. Please let me know if you have any food allergies or dietary requirements and I will do my best to cater for your needs. The separate bathroom is tastefully decorated, and towels are provided, all the better to enjoy the wonderful roll-top bath, which can accommodate two – although if you want to swim, you’ll have to head to the beach! Despite the secluded feel of this property, it is centrally located, with Littlehampton East Beach only a 5-minute stroll away. Also within easy 10-minute walking distance are plenty of cafes and restaurants (including the stunning East Beach Café), the town centre, and the train station. Your hosts are Annie and Rad Radburn, who will be more than happy to advise you on what Littlehampton has to offer, but equally will leave you alone to enjoy the space in peace if that’s what you need. Rad is a local artist whose work is displayed in the air raid shelter. If you are planning a romantic stay, Rad and Annie can by prior arrangement provide flowers/champagne/chocolates etc or for late arrivals a flask of home made soup with bread and cheese.
