Entire self contained barn in Oving near Goodwood

The Cart House dates back to the 18th century and is set within our grounds in the hamlet of Colworth, near Oving. The conversion was completed in July 2021 and is renovated to a very high standard offering the perfect couples getaway in the countryside. The luxury annexe is situated near Goodwood (10 minute drive), The South Downs, Chichester and The Witterings and is walking distance to the pretty village of Oving with the wonderful Gribble pub. Set in an acre of beautiful garden and situated on a quiet lane, the owners live on site with their two children, two friendly dogs and three chickens. In July 2020, the conversion was completed and resulted in a beautifully decorated property. It is finished to a very high standard with underfloor heating throughout to create a cosy cottage feel with a high end boutique hotel finish. The bedroom offers a king size bed, vaulted ceiling and exposed beams with a super comfy mattress and high quality bed linen. The shaker style kitchette provides all of your catering needs; fridge, small freezer, oven, hob, kettle and a toaster to ensure you have everything you require for a cosy dinner in. We’ll also ensure you have essentials such as tea, coffee, milk and freshly laid eggs for your arrival. There is a cosy mezzanine area with a small sofa bed in for any agile guests who aren’t afraid of heights or prone to sleepwalking! Please note - this sofa bed will only be prepared with full bedding if you let me know in advance. Or it could be an ideal nook to read a book with a coffee and gaze out of the skylight window. Please note the ceiling height is 5ft 7” in the middle section only then the ceiling slopes. The luxurious shower room will welcome you with locally sourced home made products and fluffy towels. There is a sectioned off outside area for the Cart House guests is perfectly positioned to sit with a glass of wine while the BBQ warms up in the evening sun. The garden is ideal for stargazing and birdwatching. It will offer privacy and is dog safe. Our two friendly dogs will be happy to welcome you but there is enough space for them to stay away too. Guest access will be through a shared gate however we have designed the access, garden space and parking to be totally independent from us with a separate entrance. The porch area can house your wellies, walking boots and bikes safely and securely. We will be happy to interact and assist guests with local maps, guidance on local attractions and can make booking on their behalf if required. We are perfectly situated between the beautiful South Downs which are perfect for dog walks, pub lunches and bike rides and also the coast with the famous Witterings just a 20/30 minute drive. Chichester is a pretty market town with farmers markets and independent shops The nearest train stations are Chichester or Barnham. Taxis are easy to book and there is a bus route nearby. The garden backs on to the train line which is completely secure and safe. See aerial photo. Please bring your own charcoal for the Mezzanine ladder to be used at guest’s own risk. We won’t prepare the sofa bed with full bedding unless you let us know you or your guest will be sleeping there.
