Hazel Barrow Cottage
Luxurious holiday cottage in stunning location. We are based in the very north of Staffordshire and in the Peak District National park very close to three shires head where Staffordshire, Cheshire and Derbyshire all meet, this makes us a great base to explore the area. Fully stocked kitchen and dining area with open plan front room which has TV, DVD Player, selection of DVDs (more on request), various games, books and magazines. Walk in shower, towels and hairdryer supplied. All bedding with wardrobes and units. With stunning countryside on our doorstep and nestled just behind the renowned climbing venue of the Roaches which is ten minutes walk from the cottage where you can spend the day climbing or continuing a circular walk taking in Luds church, Hen cloud and Ramshaw rocks. Make sure you take plenty of stops to take in the views where on a clear day you can see the Welsh hills, the Wrekin and Long Mynd, Jodrell bank and Tittisworth reservoir . Also keep your eyes peeled for peregrine falcons,Curlews,Lapwing, Snipe, Cuckoos, owls and many more amazing wildlife that lives in the area. What awaits you when you arrive? Well we always greet you with a warm welcome Jane or Hannah will show you to the cottage and the dogs Keith and Lenny will be excited to see you too. Where we will leave you in peace and quiet to get on with your stay or if you are after more information to make the most of your stay then we can point you in the right direction for all the best walks, climbs, bike rides, towns, pubs or restaurants in the area. If you want to venture out in the car then just down the road is the lovely town of Leek which is very dog friendly and has regular local markets throughout the week. Then to the north is Buxton which is famous for being the highest market town and its spa water, dome, theatre and many more fabulous buildings.20 minutes to the east is Bakewell be sure to try a Bakewell pudding and just a bit further is the grand Chatsworth house. We are 30 minutes from Macclesfield, 50 minutes from Manchester and Sheffield and 40 minutes from Stoke-on-Trent with all the big name pottery factories and museums. So with plenty to see and do you are going to need longer than a weekend visiting Hazel Barrow Farm! So either come and kick back and relax or pack your time with lots of activities where you will need to book another stay to recover! We hope to see you soon.
