The Old Smithy - Lovely Cottage, Great Walsingham

The Old Smithy still has the original sign over the door and offers a light, airy comfortable cottage. Ideal for 2 to 3 guests. Lovely open plan living area with a large wood burner. Located in the lovely quiet village of Great Walsingham, The Smithy is the ideal place to relax & unwind. With the a stunning beach only 5 miles away, the cottage is a perfect base to explore all the lovely places North Norfolk has to offer. For all booking we require: Phone number, Email address and either Passport or Driving license to have been uploaded to Airbnb. Inside you will find: Good size entrance hall will plenty of space for hanging coats/storing boots etc. The large welcoming living room is open plan style which works very well with one area housing the kitchen and the other the dining area. The sitting area has 2 very comfortable sofas, TV and large wood burner. Wifi, DVD,& CD player are all available. There are 3 bathrooms in the cottage (the shower room is on the ground floor). There is also a small utility room with washing machine & dryer. Both rooms are off the hall. Heading upstairs: From the hallway is the staircase leading to the two double bedrooms and two bathrooms, due to the age and nature of the building, all these rooms have restricted height in places. The first and smallest of the two bedrooms has a rather unusual - but handy - layout. There are two doors to this room each opening on either side of the bed. You each have your own dressing space with a window, so this is a lovely light room and the bed is tucked under the eaves. The bathroom is opposite. The second bedroom is a good size again with restricted height in places.There are good storage and hanging spaces provided in the fitted wardrobes. The third bathroom is off this bedroom. Both bathrooms have been newly updated & fitted with white suites. Quality linen & towels are provided. Outside and garden There is parking for 1 car outside the cottage. Although there is no garden, directly outside the front door is an area with a bench so you can sit outside. Should you wish to park on the green then there are further chairs and a table that can also be used at the front to enjoy a glass of wine while taking in the view down to the village green. Surrounding area Within 1 minutes walk you will find the Walsingham Barns where there is a cafe serving delicious food (famous for its pies). There is also a selection of galleries and shops. 1 mile away (pleasant walk via the village ford) is Walsingham, famous for its religious pilgrimages. There are a selection of good pubs and eating places as well as The Walsingham farm store and The Walsingham light railway station with links to the station at Wells. There is a stunning snowdrop walk through Walsingham Abbey (Feb to March). Wells-next-the-Sea is 5 miles away. You have full exclusive use of the cottage and private parking space at the front of the cottage.
