Included is the walkout basement [if not occupied as sleeping quarters by another guest] are: customized pool table, two large windows, full bath and built in TV. Adjoining this walkout is a private lower patio with seating for seven + and a fire pit for roasting marshmallows/smores. Marshmallows and skewers are below the kitchen clock in the last drawer/kitchen. We enjoy high standards of home maintenance and ongoing care. The space is very clean with windows serviced by an independent contractor, Windows by Mark. In addition, professional housekeeping services [JC Cleaning -- licensed & insured] are utilized to supplement ongoing cleaning. Much attention has been devoted to a well-appointed décor. Availability of bathrooms include one full bath plus one full master bath on third level where the "Queen" is located. In a few instances, the full [family] bath is shared with another guest or guests. In addition, a powder room is located on the second, entry level. If the walkout level is not in use by another guest, a fully decorated full-bath is also accessible. This is essentially a four bathroom home with guest access to three full baths, and one half bath. Melaleuca soaps, Melaleuca laundered towels/washcloths and other toiletries are generously provided so that our guests can soak in the wonderful scents and relax. In addition, guests are encouraged to peruse their favorite in the guidebook and other supportive resources to plan local excursions. Conveniently placed in the nightstand, the folder will be chock full of helpful insight. An additional glossy maroon folder dichotomizes information related to Elon University. Plus two pairs of spiffy sunglasses and Hawaiian leis are provided. Look for your other gifts including bottled wine and dark chocolate. *You will be able to access the entire three levels of our home except Dick's upstairs business office. The walkout gameroom/bedroom is accessible if another guest is not occupying the space for sleeping quarters. All areas highlighted in the photographs are completely available to you as our guest. Both indoor as well as outdoor spaces are included. Outdoor features include an installed pergola covered upper deck, lower covered patio, fire pit with granite surround [marshmallow roasting, anyone?], meandering creek and small front porch. One of us will graciously and warmly greet you upon your arrival unless other arrangements are mutually agreed to. Your visit is one that we welcome enthusiastically. Using the Hawaiian tradition of removing shoes and placing them in a shoe rack upon entering our home, the spirit of Aloha will prevail. Dick maintained his home in Hawaii for over 39 years, living on Oahu and attending school on the Big Island at HPA. Your privacy will be respected. Join Dick and Bebe for as much of their daily schedule of activity as your own plans might permit. Female guests: Bebe would be delighted to have you join her for Tai Chi at Brookwood. Quiet, residential, safe cul-de-sac neighborhood of merely the seven brick homes adjacent to our college town -- Elon University ... about three minutes away by car. Many walk to Beth Schmidt Park -- a few short blocks away, for recreation and/or drive to nearby shopping malls, restaurants, movie theater, local social hot spots such The Fat Frogg and live entertainment at Acorn Inn. More walking options are included in the Sustainability Walking Tour at Elon University [see brochure in nightstand], hiking/nature trails and running walking tracks [see Alamance County Visitors Guide, pages 14-5 for details; brochure is in the nightstand]. Kindly, discuss with Dick and Bebe beforehand if you plan to walk alone. In addition, nearby Elon University offers a wide array of cultural activities ranging from special programs, lives performances, campus events to bustling CAA athletic offerings. Provided by Elon University and operating Wednesday through Sunday, the free BioBus Transportation System offers a number of lines/routes to the public in the surrounding community. E-ride shuttle bus operators, GPS and algorithm{s} track and predict arrival times. Use the University Drive line as it is a short distance from our home. Also, this line transports to Moseley, Lowes Food, Target, University Commons, Texas Roadhouse, Kohl's, Dillard's and Alamance Crossing. In addition, Link Transit, the public transit system features five routes in Burlington, Alamance Community College and Gibsonville offered FREE transportation for the remainder of June 2016 as it launched daily transportation Monday to Friday. Link Transit serves the area with five routes: Blue, Green, Purple, Red and Orange. The Blue line is the closest to our home. Vehicles operate Monday through Friday from 5:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. It operates from a transfer hub on Worth Street, near the Historic Depot in downtown Burlington. Regular fares are $1.00 per ride, while senior citizens, students, disabled and Medicare card holders pay $.50 per ride. Transfers and children shorter than the fare box ride FREE. For your convenience, a detailed brochure has been placed in the left nightstand. In a recent edition of THE PENDULUM, a licensed Uber driver was featured. Noah Sakin is an Elon University senior and has extensive experience as a Safe Rides driver. His minivan is considered an Uber XL. Geoffrey Elliott [from Elon] at (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) is another recommended Uber driver. Another option is: ACTA - Alamance County Transportation Authority. General public, elderly disabled, and dial-a-ride fares recently increased to $3.00 one-way for trips. To ensure a smooth and seamless travel experience, a private vehicle is suggested. Exceedingly convenient to Interstate 40/85. Alamance Crossing and Alamance Common(s) are right here. We welcome guests from all walks of life. In addition, we encourage long term guests through deeply discounted rates. To ensure the highest standards are maintained, no smoking or pets are allowed. Each room boasts a night lite and our home is maintained by using Melaleuca [Ecosense] and Norwex products because they are better and safer for your health and the environment. In keeping with our Melaleuca-influenced practice of using nontoxic substances in housekeeping, Bell + Howell ultrasonic technology is used to supplement better, safer products mentioned above. Pacemaker patients and other using electronic devices that can be effected by am ultrasonic sound wave, kindly, notify Bebe so that adjustments are made without delay.
