"Kyklamino" Castle House, Monemvasia

Situated at the foot of the famous rock of the Castle of Monemvasia, Kyklamino House is a typical, traditional stone house that offers a unique view. Built at the foot of the famous rock of the Upper Town, it offers a unique view of the Lower Town and the Myrtoo Sea. Perfect for families, couples, small group of friends and lone travelers, Kyklamino House is an ideal choice for those who wish to enjoy the tranquility that reigns within the Castle of Monemvasia, as well as for those who want to use it as a base for excursions in the wider area. The house was built on the remains of an old residence and was recently renovated following the typical morphological characteristics of local architecture. It consists of three open-space levels that are connected by an internal wooden staircase. One can enter the house at the upper level, where the living room and the kitchen co-exist in an ample open space that is decorated with a marble floor, a wooden roof and a fireplace. On the middle level, which is covered with a typical stone vault, there is one open-space bedroom with a double bed. On this level, one can access a private terrace with a splendid view. On the lower level there is a second open-space bedroom with a semi-double bed. The rock, upon which the house is built, is visible, giving a “natural” character to the space. The two bedrooms share a bathroom, located at the “mezzanine” level. It is also covered with a stone vault and the walls and floor are decorated by marble stones. Vehicles are prohibited in the traditional settlement of Monemvasia. There is a parking lot just outside the entrance. Kyklamino House is non-accessible to persons with disabilities, due to multiple stairways.
