The Gable - Charming self-contained Annexe

The Gable – A light & airy annexe recently refurbished with love and attention to detail. Bedroom with double-bed with the most comfortable mattress, beautiful shower room, soft squidgy sofa, fully equipped, high-specification kitchen and a large smart screen TV - all comforts to make your stay perfect! Downstairs you’ll enter through a private front door into a small entrance hall with cloakroom / toilet and door into the main living space. Stairs lead up to the Eves bedroom and Shower room. Kitchen & Living Space The kitchen has everything you will need. A Nespresso Coffee Machine; Induction Hob with built-in extractor and easy to operate Oven; Toaster; Dishwasher; American-style Fridge Freezer; Microwave and Washer/Dryer. All the utensils, crockery, glassware & cooking equipment you’ll need. A large, soft sofa, with footstool, coffee table and large smart TV is perfect for sinking into & relaxing. A dining table & 4- chairs, bookcase, Bluetooth speaker, and chest (full of games which you are welcome to use!) completes the downstairs. The whole area is covered by underfloor heating which you can control (upstairs is controllable too separately). The Gables is covered by very reliable high-speed internet connection. Bathroom There is lovely shower and towels waiting – fluffy and warm. Upstairs The bedroom is in the eves, so whilst the main space is full head-height, you may need to be careful if you are tall! A double bed with the most comfortable mattress, bedside tables, small bedroom chair and a small gentleman’s wardrobe with drawers and hanging provide everything you need for a comfortable stay. If you need more hangers, blankets, pillows - please just ask. At the top to the stairs is the Shower room with soft fluffy towels and hot water on demand Outside The Gable has its own secluded courtyard space, with garden table & chairs, umbrella and charcoal BBQ. It's surrounded by the owner’s raised vegetable beds. The spot enjoys the sun for much of the day so it’s beautiful for relaxing with a glass of wine! There is private parking in a secured driveway & there is plenty of space in the owner’s carport to securely store bikes etc if you have such items with you. Other things to note The Gable is perfect for a quiet getaway for a couple or single person and is set in the small quiet, village of Granborough, which is superbly located for some beautiful walks directly from your door or within a short drive. The village Pub (The Crown) is a couple of minutes’ walk away & serves food & does a takeaway pizza /fish & chips service. There are many other local pubs (in and around the beautiful Buckinghamshire villages), so if you are looking for great places to eat or a well-deserved pint at the end of your walks / days out, let us know and we'd be happy to suggest other places. If you don’t want to eat out and prefer not to cook, a number of pubs also do takeaway and we can advise on other takeaway restaurants in the locality (some of which deliver). We’re happy to give advice on local walks and other places of interest and we’re only 20 mins drive from Bicester Village for those needing a shopping fix! We have 3 Cocker Spaniel dogs. They are all very friendly and cannot access the Gables outside space, but if you are a bit nervous, please just let us know in advance. Because of our own dogs on-site we are not currently able to accommodate guest’s dogs. We normally welcome guests from 4pm onwards, but if you need to gain access earlier, there is secure key safe to allow for contactless access. We are typically around so if you have a question or something is not right whilst you are our guest, - please just ask. We want your stay to be perfect. There is no issues with parking - there is plenty of off-the-road parking in front of The Gables Granborough lies in North Buckinghamshire, approximately 2 miles from the market town of Winslow and close to the Oxfordshire boarder. Its a small village with c. 600 residents, but importantly it does have a village pub (The Crown). Records of the village go back to Anglo Saxon origins and the village appears in the Doomsday Book 1086 as ‘Grenesberga’, meaning ‘green hill’. Granborough is surrounded by beautiful countryside, which provides the opportunity for many lovely walks. Equally its well-positioned for easy reach of many other local amenities (Bicester Village shopping outlets, Waddesdon estate (including the beautiful Rothschild mansion which you can visit), a number of other National Trust properties & gardens, Bletchley Park (top-secret home of the World War Two Codebreakers),Oxford, Milton Keynes, Aylesbury, as well as lots and lots of beautiful Buckinghamshire & Oxfordshire villages). Whilst we are set in a rural village, getting around by car is relatively simple - we're within close reach of the A41 (which goes across the county), about 15 mins from the M1 and 30 mins from the M25. There is a local bus route that goes through the village, that travels between Aylesbury and Buckingham. There are a number of local taxi firms, but none located in Granborough. Taxis do need to be booked in advance and because they have to travel to the village from either Aylesbury or Winslow, they can be quite expensive (compared to taxi's around towns)
