Lavrock House - stunning Georgian Manor House

Enjoy a unique experience staying in this stylish Georgian manor house set in 10 acres of land in the heart of the Suffolk countryside very close to the Cambridge border. Beautiful gardens filled with roses and a large terrace make this place ideal for entertaining or total relaxation on the sun deck. Overlooking its own meadows and the brook makes this a wonderful retreat for a fun staycation, a quiet getaway or a special and memorable occasion for friends and family. In this beautiful Georgian house (dated 1802), guests can enjoy large, lavish rooms with traditional features including original fireplaces in many of the rooms, high ceilings, big walk-through windows onto the lawns and terrace. The rooms have gorgeous countryside views and feature design classic furniture for style and comfort and striking artwork. Another footnote to the history of this former Suffolk dairy are the flint outbuildings in the courtyard leading to the gardens, also another good entertaining space. There are large outdoor sofas, sun loungers and deck chairs to relax and enjoy or a game of badminton on the lawn. BBQ cooking on the fire pit and large outdoor dining table seating 10 makes for fun al fresco dinner parties complimented by festoon lighting and the garden illuminated by night. This much-loved family home is perfect for entertaining or simply relaxing in isolation or creating a truly memorable stay for a special occasion. Lavrock House is perfectly located on the Suffolk / Cambridgeshire border making it very accessible but also nestled in a quiet rural part of the countryside. We are a few minutes walk from local village pub. Lavrock House would also make a wonderful events venue for celebrations with family and friends with its large terrace, lawns and garden. Chippenham Park is also 5 mins away and National Trust's Ickworth Park offers lovely parkland for a good walk too (15 mins away). For the more active guests, there are plenty of good cycling and running tracks and bridlepaths surrounding Lavrock House (host can offer a bespoke tour to show you the circuit experience). WildTracks is also 5 minutes away if you want to rev up your stay by go-karting, squad-biking, archery and more. Sightseeing is in abundance where we are positioned - the famous Ely Cathedral is 10 minutes away and definitely worth a visit or for the best shopping and sightseeing the famous historic university city of Cambridge is only 17 miles away. There is a wonderful spa nearby and if you like horseracing, Newmarket is only 5 miles away and home to some of the most important events in British thoroughbred racing. Excellent direct transport links from London to Ely and Cambridge. Lavrock House is located 5 mins drive from A11 (M11) & A14. London Stanstead airport is only 40 miles away. Norfolk coast is easily within reach for fun day trips by the sea only approx. 45 miles away. Perfect place for a staycation in the sun and fresh countryside air!
