Gîte Le Recoux - Charming Black Périgord Cottage Close to Dordogne Attractions

Quaint stone holiday cottage (gîte) in the "golden triangle" of the Périgord Noir with spectacular hilltop views. Gîte is totally self-catering. Location is close to all Dordogne highlights: the prehistoric sites of Lascaux, Les Ezyies; chateux Beynac, Castelnaud, Les Milandes; shopping at numerous street markets, Sarlat (25min); and Dordogne river activities such as kayaking, swimming and picnicing. This area of the valley is surrounded by caves and grottoes, footpaths and wine country. The location offers tranquility and simplicity and is surrounded by nature and great access to sites. We enjoy rambling through the hamlet and having long conversations overlooking the valley. The gîte comfortably sleeps a family of 4 (one large master bedroom with queen bed and second bedroom with bunkbeds). There is also a fold-out sofa in living room. Gîte is best suited for four: two adults and 2-4 children. Total area is approximately 95 m2 of renovated space--newly equipped kitchen, living room/dining room, modern bathroom, all with typical stone floors and walls. Two levels: two bedrooms are on the second level, and living/kitchen space and bathroom/toilet is on the ground floor. It is cosy, light and bright, with two terraces, a large garden, and lots of private parking. The house stays nice and cool in the summer a good heating system allows comfort during the winter months as well. Your hosts will provide you with a complimentary itinerary--usable directly from the gite--to make your vacation planning effortless and to ensure you won't miss any of the hidden specialties nearby. Kindly note: owners are not on site but caretaker is available for all needs or any problems. There is only one toilet and it is downstairs from the bedrooms. Also, smoking is not permitted inside the gite and pets are not allowed. Please be aware of these points before you book.
