Cayman Cottage by the Sea

Just 50 steps away from a powdery white, sandy beach the 2 bedroom cottage provides basic, spotlessly clean accommodations. Located in the peaceful East End of Grand Cayman: Great Diving & Kiteboarding (we're 5 minutes from The Sweet Spot windsurfers launch) and a 5 minute drive from the grocery store, restaurants & the Morritts & Reef Resorts. Snuggle Beach 1-2 bedroom apt. at same location is also avail. 13% Accommodation tax is added to rate. MINIMUM STAY: 5 Days High season, 4 days/low. Cottage will hold a max. of 5 adults and 2 children or 4 adults & 3 children. It is too small for 6 or 7 adults. Main floor bedroom has an ensuite with shower. Second bedroom is on the 2nd floor, via a 2' wide winding wrought-iron staircase (you need to be agile & thin). 2nd floor has an ensuite with bathtub only, sink & toilet. There is a washer & dryer in the unit. NOTE: Christmas bookings are a minimum of 7 days. "Cottage by the Sea" has no views of the ocean from any windows, however, it has a large terrace on the 2nd floor with awesome views of the ocean. There is a whirlpool tub and two tandem kayaks for our guests to use. You are walking distance (10 minutes west along the beach) to the Morritt's Tortuga Resort and Reef Resort. They both offer a multitude of sports: Scuba diving, kiteboarding, kayaking, water tricycles, etc. You can also walk to a large convenience store (prices same as grocery store) and a couple of restaurants at a strip mall across from the Morritt's. Ocean Frontiers (which we recommend for experienced divers) is less than a 10 minute drive [too far to walk] west. HIGHLY Recommend "The Barefoot Man" at the Reef 1-2 x a week dinner show. There is more information on our website, same name followed by dot co m. Busses run every 1/2 hour but we strongly advise renting a car. We have a discount with a local car agency, you get the discount code when you get your confirmation. There are no bus stops, you just flag the bus down (small similar to a mini-van). Taxi from the airport is $100 (they charge you for both ways) so in the end, because you have to get back to the airport, your $200 would be better spent on a rental car so you see the whole island. We have air conditioning, but quite often, it is sufficient to just open up the windows and patio doors and let the breeze cool things down. East End has a gentle breeze all the time (which is why people come specifically for wind surfing). The other benefit of the breeze is that it keeps away the bugs - other parts of the island, especially West End, have a mosquito problem. We have High Speed WIFI & a satellite TV.
