The Barrel House

The Barrel house has been lovingly restored to provide a stylish, multifunctional space for Airbnb guests. The vaulted ceiling adds to the feeling of space. All windows are double glazed and a velux roof window allows the daylight to flood in. Outside there is a private patio area with a bistro set for outdoor dining or enjoying sundowners. Nearby is the village shop, popular butchers and local pub. There are plenty of walks to enjoy nearby. We provide a welcome pack on arrival of fresh bread from a local baker, selection of preserves, tea, coffee, sugar, milk and coffee pods for the Dulce Gusto coffee machine. The living space is open plan with zones for kitchen, lounging and sleeping. A door leads to a large bathroom with a large walk in shower, toilet and wash basin. Storage drawers under the bed for your clothing and limited hanging space also available. The television in the lounge zone is connected to Sky tv via a Q box and is signed into Netflix for your enjoyment. Private use patio area to the rear of the barrel house for your enjoyment with views overlooking garden and fields beyond. Parking is available for one car per booking. Additional parking is available nearby. Due to the time it takes to clean and prepare the Barrel House for new guests we are not usually able to accommodate requests for earlier check in times. The barrel house is a self contained guest suite for exclusive use with its own front door We give our guests space to enjoy your stay at the barrel house. However we are around to help with queries or problems The village has a great pub just a 30 second walk from the house. Also nearby is the village shop and delicatessen. Beautiful walks can be enjoyed along the River Wensum which passes by the village. The Wensum Way walk passes in front of the house and can be followed either to Gressenhall or Lenwade. The centre of Norwich is 12 miles away with great shopping and restaurants. Park and ride facilities are available from Thickthorn in the A47. A bus service runs from the village in to Dereham where a fast bus can be taken onwards to Norwich. Other nearby attractions include Blickling Hall National Trust estate and various picturesque towns and villages to explore. Both the Broads National Park and the stunning Norfolk beaches are only a 30 minute easy drive from us. The Thursford collection with it’s famous Christmas show is just 20 minutes from Swanton Morley. Please contact us if you wish to bring dog(s) to discuss.
