Beautifully appointed stone-built house with great access to the surrounding beauty spots. Spacious accommodation with great views of the surrounding countryside and public footpaths on the doorstep! Secure storage available for storing cycles. The house is very close to Hamsterley Forest. This is a well known haven for mountain bike enthusiasts and offers some great walks through forestry commission land. There is ample parking on the drive as well as plenty of secure storage for bikes and belongings. All the rooms are big and airy, clean and nicely furnished. There is great water pressure throughout the house, offering a great shower to refresh you during your stay. Your room is approximately 15 foot by 12 foot. Own double or king size bed, depending on the room occupied (I have 2 rooms to be occupied and I'll be working on a second listing - ask me for more details). Large kitchen, clothes washer, dryer and iron available. Shared lounge with large TV, BlueRay Player and Netflix for free. Access to guest wifi at better than national average speeds (around 8-10Mbit at time of writing). Patio area and lawned gardens can be used during summer months on the occasion we get nice weather! Happy to interact with guests whenever I'm in the home, mostly in the evenings but am often to be found in my home office during the day. It has great access to the surrounding countryside. Hamsterley Forest is less than 10 minutes away and a great place to walk or cycle with top class facilities. Bishop Auckland has some charming architecture in the market place, with the Bishop's Palace and fabulous grounds and artwork to be enjoyed. The town is steeped in history and will soon be making more history with the History of Britain Show "Kynren" that will be premiering in the summer of 2016. This will be a spectacle not to be missed and something the town is very much looking forward to! Other attractions in the are include: Escombe Saxon Church Binchester Roman Fort Durham Cathedral High Force Waterfall Bowes Museum Barnard Castle Raby Castle Beamish Museum Hardwick Hall The Raby Hunt (Michelin Star Restaurant, within 10 minutes drive) There is a bus route that passes the house but the best way to get around is by car. The house is situated close to the A68 with direct access to many attractions. I have two gorgeous, small dogs who are extremely friendly and well behaved, see the picture of them. Anyone who meets them instantly falls for them, they are quite soft and full of personality.
