Newly refurbished country cottage commanding breathtaking views across open Yorkshire moorland. Situated between Halifax and Haworth, world renowned village of the literary greats, the Bronte Sisters. Relax in the lounge, languish in the large conservatory or sit out on the patio. There is a well-equipped kitchen, 2 bedrooms and shower room. Double sofa bed for 2 extra guests. Dogs welcome, provided supervised at all times. Peaceful retreat, so not suitable for parties. Entry via lockbox. WHAT IS PROVIDED FOR YOUR STAY Lock code and alarm operation instructions are available on confirmation of booking. Please use the hand sanitiser which is located by the conservatory entrance. Clean bed linen, fresh towels and tea towels. Instant hot water. Gas central heating. TV and WiFi. First aid kit. Fire extinguisher and fire blanket. Lounge under stairs cupboard: clothes airer, baby highchair, vacuum cleaner. Master bedroom: Iron, ironing board and hair dryer are stored within the hanging area. For all operational manuals i.e. gas fire, oven, heating, WiFi code etc. refer to "instructions" in folder provided. After your visit please wash up and dry all your used crockery and pans (washing up liquid is provided) and leave your used towels in the shower cubicle. We recycle, instructions for how to separate waste are in the folder. If you are bringing your dog we do not provide dog beds and blankets. Please ensure your dog is properly supervised and not left alone in the house. Do not allow your pet to sit on any of the furniture including the beds. Smoking is not permitted in any internal part of the cottage. We have provided a pot planter filled with sand which is located in the patio area. We do not provide stair gates and travel cot. IMPORTANT NOTICE: The property is not on the main drains and is serviced by a septic tank, therefore it is essential that you only flush human waste down the toilet. All sanitary products and nappies to be disposed of in nappy bags which are provided in the shower room. IN GENERAL There is a private gated parking area or on street parking immediately in front of the property. Entrance is gained from the large conservatory. CONSERVATORY: As you enter there is ample hanging space for coats and removing boots and shoes. The dining table is set out for 4 guests, and can be opened out to accommodate 6 people, for instructions please refer to photographs in grey folder. In addition there are 2 white folding chairs located in the conservatory. The dining table can also be used as a work station. There are 2 comfortable occasional chairs to take in the splendid views or read a book whilst having the odd glass of wine. The single glazed door leads into the open plan kitchen and lounge. LOUNGE: Enjoy the moorland views through the panoramic window. The lounge comprises two comfortable sofas, one of which converts into a double pocket sprung bed. There is a feature stone fireplace boasting a real fire effect gas stove which can be easily operated for instant heat. For cooler days there is gas central heating maintained throughout the whole of the property. KITCHEN: The kitchen area is equipped with a fridge freezer, oven/grill, hob, washing machine, microwave, kettle and toaster. There are glasses, cutlery, crockery, pans and baking trays. FIRST FLOOR: Large double bedroom with views overlooking stunning open countryside. Pocket sprung double bed, crisp bed linen, bedside tables and lamps and ample clothes hanging facility. Second bedroom incorporates bunk beds, great for children and adults alike, clothes hanging space and bedside table. Shower room is neat and bijou, with enclosed glazed shower unit and wall heated towel rail. OUTSIDE: Adjacent to the conservatory there is a paved patio area with external seating. You can use the lockbox to come and go. If you need anything, however, myself and my partner are never far away, and I am easily contactable by phone or text. The cottage is ideally situated for gentle country walks and for the more adventurous trekkers and mountain bikers alike, or why not book a session for water activities at one of our local reservoirs, Doe Park. In the immediate locality there are a variety of pubs and cafes. If you want to take your 'best friend' with you, the Causeway Foot Inn is within walking distance and dog friendly, even providing a doggy menu. We are close to Ogden reservoir, a beauty spot where there are several walks of varying levels. A 5 minute drive will take you to an award-winning farm shop that specialises in local produce. Haworth is only 5 miles away. Steeped in history it hosts museums, quaint shops, restaurants and more dog friendly inns. There are spectacular walks from there including a pennine route to the Top Withens that is said to have been the inspiration for Wuthering Heights. Beyond it are Oakworth, featured in the film The Railway Children, (the Keighley and Worth Valley Steam Railway) and Skipton, a lovely historical market town, gateway to the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District. In the opposite direction is Halifax, with its theatres and Eureka, the children's museum. Home to the series 'Last Tango in Halifax', 'Happy valley' and 'Gentleman Jack' there will be some familiar sights. Call into the historic Georgian Piece Hall where you can stop for lunch or an early evening drink whilst enjoying the shops. Hebden Bridge, likewise is not far away and worth a visit for its eclectic pubs, eateries and creative outlets.
