A tiny house with all you need for a short stay. The fitted kitchen has full cooking facilities as well as a small fridge. Private off road parking with space in the garage to store bikes, hiking gear, surf boards etc. Situated at Scrabster the Wee Hoosie is a 15 minute walk to catch the Orkney Ferry (The Hamnavoe). Alternatively it is a great place to be based if working in the area or to explore Caithness. If you're passing through on the NC500 the Wee Hoosie is ideal as a stopping point. This tiny house has electric heating, electric shower and charging points for your mobile devices. Free wifi as well as 4G available. The sofa which is effectively a king size bed when switched into bed mode is easily set up with full bedding and pillows stored within the house. Please note that that the mattress is FIRM. Cooking facilities include a microwave that has a grill and oven function. There is also a two ring induction job with pans. A small fridge is also available but please be aware it is only suitable to store small items. A breakfast bag is also provided for you to enjoy within The Wee Hoosie or take it away and eat when convenient. A selection of fruits, pastries and drinks make up the breakfast bag. If you fancy something cooked please feel free to use the kitchen facilities. Filter coffee, tea, sugar and fresh milk is provided. Outdoor seating is available for guests to use. We are in the property next door and are generally available to help with anything or answer any questions. We are 2 miles from Thurso in the small hamlet of Scrabster. A short walk or drive takes you to Scrabster Harbour where there are 2 restaurants, a fish bar, a tapas bar, a cafe and a pub (Popeyes). The harbour is also fantastic just to walk around and look at the boats. The resident seal might also be spotted scrounging fish from one of the many fishing boats. Fishing trips are available from Scrabster as well as the Orkney ferry, The Hamnavoe. From the harbour you can walk further to Holbornhead lighthouse and from there a grassy walk will take you to Holbornhead itself. Holbornhead is wild and rugged with spectacular views across the North Atlantic. Alternatively a visit to Thurso which is a 5 minute drive or a very pleasant 2 mile walk. Thurso will give you access to restaurants, shops, leisure facilities, a golf course, a museum and historic churches. Another popular activity in the area is surfing. We are 10 minutes from the world class Thurso East waters. We are in the rural Highlands so it is best to have your own transport although good train, ferry and bus links are available, We have a dog that you might meet in the garden. He is friendly and full of energy. We also have a working beehive in the garden.
