Stylish cottage rested in the Kent Downs
This cottage sits in the Kent Downs amongst many idyllic walks and cycle routes. It is family friendly, clean and has good WiFi. Surrounded by beautiful views, this is a perfect peaceful getaway. The cottage is thoughtfully designed to allow for a comfortable stay and there is a huge garden to let the kids explore whilst you sit and relax. The Five Bells pub is a short walk away and offers great locally sourced high end dining and a well stocked gin bar. It sleeps 4 comfortably. There is a double bedroom and two single bedrooms with trundle beds for friends or a parent to join if needed. The bathroom is downstairs and has a large walk in shower. The kitchen table comfortably sits 6 and there is a large range oven, dishwasher, washing machine and microwave. The cupboards are well stocked for cooking and I will leave a small welcome pack with milk and some essentials. The lounge has a large sofa and footstool and the TV has Netflix and all the catch up channels. There is a large woodburner which keeps the room toasty. I’ll fill the basket with wood but do not supply endless logs! The garden is this homes main stand out feature. There is a large table and benches and plenty of room to kick a ball or throw a frisbee around. There is parking for 2 cars. Please note that this is a semi detached cottage and not completely isolated. There are neighbours so it is not to be used as a party house. Lastly, the cottage is in a very rural setting and so there may be some insects! Guests have sole access to the house and garden. I’m available by phone and pretty good at responding immediately! I can advise on the area and with any house queries. The nearest shop is a post office and Costcutter in Brabourne Lees. The postcode is TN25 6QE. Otherwise Ashford has a Sainsbury’s, Waitrose and M&S Food. And there’s a Tesco’s with petrol station as you leave the M20 at junction 10. The village has honesty boxes for eggs and honey and these are usually well stocked. The Five Bells pub is the nearest place to eat and is a 10 minute walk away. As you step out the front door, turn right and you can’t miss it! Getting here: The village is just a 15 minute drive from Ashford International Station where you can arrive by train from Kings Cross in just 35 minutes. It is just over a 1 hour drive from East and South London. It is best reached by leaving the M20 at junction 10a. Amenities: There is a general store and post office in Brabourne Lees approximately a mile and a half away. Beyond the beautiful walks and nearby Pilgrims’ Way, things to do include: Lympne - Safari and Reserve. Great for kids and huge. Not a zoo! Folkestone - The Harbour Arm has many bars and cafes and the seafront and Lower Lees Coastal Park are a lovely walk. The triennial art festival is this summer and is great to explore. (Website hidden by Airbnb) Leeds Castle - Lots of seasonal activities for kids and a brilliant maze with grotto. A great day out. Dungeness - An unusual landscape to explore. You can visit Derek Jarmans cottage, the Snack Shack for lobster and the old railway. Rye - A beautiful medieval cobbled town with many cafes, bars, antique shops and an independent cinema. Great Dixter House - Breathtaking gardens adjoined to the home of Christopher Lloyd.
