Offering breathtaking panoramic views out to the French coastline and south downs, Seaview Studio at Hillbury is nestled into Hythe’s picturesque hillside in a quiet residential area. The studio is detached and completely self sufficient. Inside you’ll find a cosy, light and spacious home-away-from-home, while outside you’ll be delighted by two alfresco dining opportunities, either in the pretty terraced garden or upstairs on the gorgeous little outdoor balcony whilst watching the sunset. The studio at a glance: There are two floors The ground floor consists of a sunny ample sized and well stocked kitchen, with complimentary snacks. Walk-in double shower room and toilet. Entrance to the private garden patio with picnic table and sunshade. This is south facing. There is a steep wide curved wooden staircase joining the floors, with a sturdy rope handrail, and night time sensor light. Upstairs is a cosy sitting area and a sleeping area with a 4’6”double bed and a 3’single bed, and access via a sliding patio door onto a beautiful little balcony to take in the stunning sea views and sunsets. This is south facing. Plus: - Whilst sitting in bed you can clearly see the beautiful sea views. - Heating with plug in electric radiators - A large ceiling fan to keep you cool in warmer weather - Electric hob, microwave, fridge/mini freezer. - WiFi. - Pretty, enclosed patio, complete with outside seating area. Studio regulations: Sorry, no pets. Minimum three night stay. The whole of the Studio is yours and independent and away from the main house. Margaret the owner lives in the main house across a small garden. Local pleasures: This comfortable, well equipped retreat is just an eight minute walk to the bustle of the small Cinque Port of Hythe. You’ll love exploring the narrow streets and passageways of this historic market town, which is home to many gorgeous cafes, restaurants and gastro pubs. Hythe's beach, where fishing boats are pulled up between trips, is a pleasant 20 minute walk from the property via the Royal Military Canal and ‘Ladies Walk’ gardens. You can walk or cycle along the promenade, or simply relax on the beach and watch the windsurfing and sailing. There is a hang gliding club close by on the Folkestone Cliffs/Capel Le Ferne. Sene Valley Golf Course is situated in the same road, and there is a links course on the seafront that can be seen from the studio! Nearby attractions: Visit the nearby Romney Hythe and Dymchurch Railway – one of the world's smallest public steam railways – and take a trip across Kent's famous Romney Marsh to Dungeness. Folkestone and the famous Harbour Arm is 10 minutes drive. Other nearby Kent attractions are: - Brockhill Country Park, with its 54 acres of lakes and woodland walks (10 minutes) - Port Lympne Wild Animal park, Port Lympne restaurant and Giraffe Manor is only 15 minutes drive. - The Royal Sandwich Golf course is an easy drive or train journey - Dover Castle - The Cinque Port of Rye A little further afield you will find the beautiful, historic city of Canterbury (35 minutes) where you can visit the famous cathedral, go punting on the river or simply wander through the streets admiring the spectacular architecture. If you prefer the outdoors, take a drive to Sandwich and Pegwell Bay National Nature Reserve (45 minutes) where you can discover an abundance of wildlife and enjoy some lovely walks while breathing in the sea air. For the more adventurous, the Channel Tunnel allows easy access to the French coast, and day trips by car to the attractive towns of Boulogne, Montreuil and Le Touquet. Folkestone West mainline railway station (8 minutes drive from the property) provides easy access to London (journey time one hour 35 minutes). The Studio is close to two mainline stations and buses to take you along the coast and into Canterbury. Parking is on a grass verge by the hedge and next to the Studio entrance. There is a short outside wooden walkway to the main studio entrance with a sensor light at night time. Inside the Studio are curved wooden stairs with a rope handrail leading to the downstairs area. The toilet and shower room are on the ground floor alongside the kitchen and the bedroom is on the upstairs floor. There are high ceiling to floor circular windows from the landing to the hall around the staircase. These face out onto the small private patio. There are no blinds but the patio is very private and not overlooked. The bedroom area is fully fitted with black out blinds The kitchen has has window and door blinds.
