Wisteria Lodge
This beautiful lodge is on the edge of the New Forest. A perfect retreat for those wanting a relaxing, peaceful getaway but also a great location for an active holiday and great for families, with lots of space around you and a host of opportunities nearby. The lodge is set in the garden of a lovely family home, it is surrounded by fields and private woodland to explore. You will have the entire lodge to yourselves. Tea, coffee and a delicious continental breakfast is provided on arrival. The lodge is in the garden of our family home, which is now much quieter as the children have all grown up! It has a beautiful west facing aspect overlooking the garden and the fields beyond. Once inside, the space is totally your own as the building is not shared with anyone else. The bedroom has a very comfortable superking bed which can be made up as twin beds if requested. The room is very light and airy, with a vaulted, beamed ceiling and windows overlooking the garden. There is an en-suite toilet and separate bathroom with an over-bath shower. The sitting room has a table, chairs and a sofa which transforms into a sofa-bed, so can accommodate an extra adult or two children; the lodge would be small for 4 adults. It also has a separate toilet just off the sitting room. There is a kitchenette area where you will find crockery, glasses and cutlery as well as a fridge, good size oven, single hob, microwave, slow cooker, kettle, toaster, and a dishwasher to save any washing up! There is also a Nespresso machine for those who like coffee and variety of essential provisions. The space is great for cooking pre-prepared meals, preparing salads and simple meals but really not suitable for cooking a full meal from scratch. There is Wifi and a TV with a DVD player. A selection of DVDs are also available. Outside, there is a patio with table and chairs for you to enjoy and a chiminea if you would like to make a fire. We also have a track leading a 2 acre wood which we are delighted for you to explore. There is ample parking for your car and a locked shed if you would like to store your bicycles in overnight. There are numerous restaurants and pubs in the area which offer delicious lunches and evening meals. The Lodge can be accessed directly from the lane through its own side gate so you can easily come and go as they please. There is also your own gated parking area. If you have any queries such as late check-in/out times or varying length of stay please do email me and I will see if we can help. There will be someone to meet you at the property and we look forward to welcoming you. Guests have their own parking and entrance so you are free to come and go as you please. We are usually around and are always happy to assist with directions or questions you may have. Sorry, no pets. The beautiful New Forest is a 5 minute drive providing miles of fantastic walking, cycling and horse riding. We provide maps which show cycle routes, best pubs for pub lunches and where local cycle hire is available. We are also situated just off the Avon Valley Path. Further afield, Salisbury is 20 minutes away, where you can visit Salisbury Cathedral, Mompesson House and the museums in the Close, as well as Wilton House. A short hop further north gets you to Stonehenge. To the south lies Bournemouth and Christchurch, with many beautiful beaches which can be reached in about half an hour. Further afield there are Mottisfont House and gardens, Beaulieu Motor Museum and Bucklers Hard. Details of local attractions in and around our area are provided. There is a bus stop at the end of our lane should you wish to use public transport. The X3 runs between Salisbury and Bournemouth, typically every half hour. As you can see in the photographs, there is an un-fenced, open swimming pool. In the winter this is not an issue as there it a winter cover protecting it but in the summer it just has a floating 'bubble cover' so the Lodge would be unsuitable if you have small children. If you are considering coming with children please contact me first so I can give you more details. Thank you.
