Stunning Derbyshire barn conversion
Our cosy and relaxing 4 bedroom barn conversion with exposed brick and original beams is the perfect base to explore Derbyshire and Staffordshire. We accept a minimum two night stay, but can negotiate ad hoc single night stays. Our 18th century converted pig shed, cow shed and horse stable is the perfect place for families to relax in between exploring the delights of Derbyshire and Staffordshire. We offer two double bedrooms and a family bathroom with over bath shower on the first floor and a bedroom with king size bed with walk in wardrobe and a connecting room with twin beds, dressing table, en suite shower room on the ground floor - perfect for families with young children and very popular with bridal parties looking for the perfect place to get ready for the big day. Our farmhouse kitchen has a modern range cooker and extendable dining table to comfortably seat eight, fridge freezer and dishwasher and a separate utility room with washing machine. Our living room has a solid fuel wood burner (wood is available to purchase via our honesty box), flat screen TV and DVD player. Separate WC and large coat cupboard. There is a patio and lawn area to enjoy if the weather allows. We can also provide a barbecue in the summer months. We have plenty of space to park right outside the door. Feel free to roam around our little small holding and take the footpath which runs through it to either Etwall or Mickleover, both a 30-40 minute walk away and both have country pubs and shops. We do occasionally have livestock in the field so please remember to close the gate. Fran and Vince will be on hand to make your stay as pleasant as possible, all you need to do is ask. Burnaston is a hamlet more than a village, all be it a very pretty one, surrounded by farms and open spaces so amenities are either a walk or short drive away to either Etwall or Mickleover. Derby city centre is around six miles away. The Stables is located with easy access to the A38, A50 and M1 and is perfect for day trips to any of the following attractions: Alton Towers Drayton Manor & Thomas Land Peak District Matlock Bath Chatsworth House Ashbourne Stoke Potteries National Space Centre Peak wildlife park Donington Park racetrack National Forest Adventure Farm There is a bus stop just outside the village on the A516 which takes you to either Derby or Burton upon Trent. Derby train station is twenty minutes away by car. Willington station is ten minutes away by car and has trains direct to Birmingham New Street. East Midlands airport is 25-30minutes away by car. We have plenty of baby and child items for you to borrow if you require it such as travel cot, high chair, pushchair etc - just let us know and we're sure we can help. There is a permenant pull across baby gate at the bottom of the stairs but the shape of the landing upstairs doesn't easily allow for a gate at the top of the stairs so we advise families with babies and toddlers to use the downstairs bedrooms.
