Cosy farm stay in Salzburg Lake District

Enjoy a stay in a charming room with en suite bathroom on an idyllic farm in the Salzburg Lake District with views of the mountains. From the farm you have direct access to the beautiful brook Mattig, beautiful hiking trails in the adjacent forest and only 10 minutes walk to the Mattsee. This cozy location is an ideal starting point for excursions to Salzburg and the surrounding areas. The owners are Austrian-Irish and will be able to assist you in English. The design of the room takes its style from the adjourning Mattig river. The room has a single and double bed option for our guests to choose. The room has an en suite bathroom. Each morning you’re invited across the courtyard to enjoy a hearty traditional Austrian breakfast buffet in our cozy farm tavern or out on the terrace under the majestic walnut tree. Features: - Box spring bed (200 x 180 cm) with high quality mattresses, topper and anti-allergenic bedding - also available as a twin bed - Bathroom with shower / WC - Hair dryer - Internet TV - Free Wi-Fi - Black-out blinds for a good sleep Guests can use the garden and playground. The cozy farm-tavern with a beautiful ambiance under the walnut tree is open for breakfast. There is also a lounge at the "Salettl" with an open-air bar and a terrace in the orchard, which is open to guests on certain evenings. The Orchard Terrace, with its private south-facing location, offers a unique view of the river Mattig and the forest below. Guests are also welcome to borrow a set of bowls to watch the sunset over a game of “bawls” on our bawls pitch. We live on the farm and are happy to assist you during your stay with recommendations for activities and day-trip destinations. We are Austrian-Irish and will be able to assist you in English. You are also welcome to get an insight into the work on the farm and our project to redesign the farm along the principles of permaculture. Our children Elliot and Robin are also happy to be playmates for your children. The farm is an ideal starting point for many trips. There is direct access to the adjacent Mattig river and the forest with endless hiking opportunities. The three lakes Mattsee, Grabensee and Obertrumer See can be reached in a few minutes on foot or by bike. When hiking, you often meet deer, pheasants and many species of birds. There are also beautiful public baths in the surrounding lakes, which heat up to a very pleasant 25 degrees in the summer months. On windy days, the nearby Mattsee is a great place to try windsurfing, kitesurfing or sailing. There are also many public beaches nearby. In Mattsee, 3km from the farm, one of the oldest settlements of the “Bajuwaren” can be visited. There is also the Ferdinand Porsche Adventure World "fahr (T) raum", or the herbal world in nearby Seeham and the Silent Night Chapel. Our area is proud of the sustainability of fresh produce, such as fish from the lakes as well as delicious free-range eggs, which are produced here on the farm. Cycling in the area is very popular. For beer fans there are visits to the Trumer private brewery, beer tastings and even draft beer from the unique beer fountain. In addition, culturally-minded guests get their taste, with the many music concerts in the nearby places. We recommend to arrive by car. We are happy to inform you about good offers. If you do not want to use a car, there are also very good bus connections from Salzburg with a bus stop directly in front of the farm. The apartment is located in the main building of the farm, where there are also other types of accommodation. The rich breakfast buffet with products from our own farm or regional producers is served daily in the farm-tavern. If breakfast is not included in the price, this can be booked at a price of 15 EUR. On the farm, we have happy free-range chickens laying happy eggs! In the summer months we produce homemade treats from our own fruits. There are also bread baking courses. For animal lovers there are rabbits and cats. We are currently in the process to build a petting zoo for ponies, sheep, and goats. Cows, geese and pigs will soon be moving to the farm with the new farm concept. But it will take some time, because even Rome was not built in a day :).
