The Roost is located on the out skirts of the quaint Derbyshire village of Holymoorside, on the edge of the Peak District. The converted barn has been modernised to an impeccable standard and offers stunning uninterrupted views of the Derbyshire countryside. This five double bedroom house is an ideal location for walking, cycling, exploring or simply getting away from it all, a 20 min stroll to the nearest pub & a short drive from the infamous stately home Chatsworth House. There are plenty of scenic and pretty walking routes which can be enjoyed from the front door. For any serious cyclists, the property is in an ideal location for exploring the High Peaks and Derbyshire moorland – locally known as the ‘maze of moors.’ The Roost is on the outer edge of Holymoorside, a beautiful village in Derbyshire. With one pub, a small independent grocery shop and a lovely park – it is the perfect location for a family staycation or a friends getaway. A twenty minute drive will take you to Chesterfield town centre, famous for the Crooked Spire, where there are plenty of pubs, cafes and restaurants for those who want a night off cooking. The town also has fantastic local bus and railway links with regular train services to London Sheffield and Birmingham. A local taxi to the centre will cost approximately £6. The nearest supermarket to the property is Morrisons which is a 10 minute drive away. The Space. The recently refurbished barn area offers impressive characteristics - heated stone flooring, bathrooms with stunning views and high specification amenities to name but a few. On the ground floor, the large stunning family lounge features original wooden beams and stone work, and is the focal point of the home. This large space is enough for the whole party to gather, plus the inclusion of a log fireplace makes it perfect for cosy evenings in front of the TV after a busy day exploring the Peaks. A floor to ceiling window has been added to corridor connecting the lounge to the kitchen – creating a small sunroom this is a great place to read a book and enjoy the surrounding views. Patio doors from the sunroom open onto terrace for alfresco dining during the summer. Up to 10 guests can be accommodated in the open plan kitchen / dining area and the kitchen is equipped with all modern appliances, including washing machine, electric oven and hob, making it easy for guests to self-cater. There is also a downstairs toilet and cloak room off the hallway. There are 4 double bedrooms each with an en-suite upstairs. In bedroom one there is a feature bath which offers stunning views over the whole area of Chesterfield, the other rooms have a combination of luxurious walk in showers and baths. The remaining 5th bedroom is downstairs off the lounge area. A private gated drive way leads up to the property and there is ample parking for guests. For those who don’t want to venture too far a large garden circles the property offering a safe place for children to play. There is also garage storage for bikes and walking boots. This is the perfect base for up to 10 adults. Travel cots & camp beds for younger children can be provided at a small extra costs, as can other items such as potties, toilet seat, steps and high chairs. These items must be requested at the time of booking. Use of the owners Tennis courts can be arranged at the time of booking. Extra Details.. Open fire in the main lounge – 1 x complimentary basket of logs supplied upon arrival (due to health and safety we cannot supply fire lighters or matches so please bring your own). Linen and fresh towels will be provided. Dogs Please note that we are dog friendly at this property however, this must be pre-arranged. An extra £20 per dog will be added to the booking Fee. Maximum of 3 dogs in the property during each stay. However if we feel extra cleaning is needed after your stay a further charge will be deducted from the Security Deposit. There are livestock in the surrounding fields so dogs must be kept under control at all times. Dogs must be under strict control at all times while in the property, well behaved and house trained. Dogs must be kept strictly out of the bedrooms and away from soft furnishings, sofas and beds. Dogs MUST NOT lie on beds and the Property must be free from dog hair upon departure. Any fouling must be cleared up by you without delay and before departure. Dogs MUST NOT be left alone in the Property or garden or elsewhere at any time Dog owners must ensure that their pets are free from parasites and fleas before they occupy the house. The entire house and garden We are available if needed. The Roost cleaning team will be onsite from 10am on check out but guests may use the facilities of the house until 11am. We ask that bedrooms and bathrooms be vacated for 10am. Beautiful English Countryside!
